Even with all of the fans he has, Dallas really needs some more attention. His voice is flawless and his writing makes you experience so many emotions.
He always says lyrics are the hardest part to a song, and holy crap, with lyrics like these I can imagine why. Dallas writes some of the most profound lyrics I've ever heard.

The lyrics of this song hit straight to one's soul.
The way he says "something better"
He is City and Colour, he can do whatever he wants. It's not some band that adheres to peoples needs. It's his music, plain and simple. He is making the music he wants because that's who he is. He's not here to please anyone of us. I don't claim to know what he's thinking I'm simply saying we either support him or we don't.
I love how every line of lyrics he writes has its own little story. and you but it together and its like daaamn son.

Dallas said and I quote "You should always evolve and I think that there are people who are upset that its not just a record of acoustic songs, You know, some really sad longing acoustic songs. But then I also think that people will be like, Oh its cool he's trying to go different places." And I am Proud of him for evolving his musical abilities. He's not a kid any more and people need to realize this. He wrote save your scissors when he was a teenager and now he's 30! Change is for the better.
Since when are artists not allowed to evolve? I'd rather listen to an artist who can evolve than one who never goes anywhere. It still sounds like City & Colour to me.

Dallas Green is an amazing lyricist. I like to write songs but the lyrics to this song are absolute flowing poetry. Combine that with the instruments and this song just paints pictures in my head. In other words - fuck yes City and Colour!!

when i first heard this, it didn't do much for me. This week after one listen though i've been singing it nearly every day. It's just his evolution, every gig i've been to he still plys the good ol' stuff from bring me your love and sometimes etc so he hasn't forgotten about the fans who still dig the sound we all fell in love it. I will love Dallas no matter what he puts out. He's a genuin musician and he's got the voice to pull anything off. I'm super excited that he's reaching out and trying new things, going places and showing that he has more than one side to him.

You all may not love or hate the new music he makes, he leads to something different to show people he likes to take this City and Colour music to a different level and direction. Dallas is a wonderful musician and I respect his music in anyway. He always sings his emotions out and that's what is the most important part to hear in the message. We all complain he doesn't make music like his old stuff, but yet he won't ever leave that old stuff behind. Will always be brought to something better.

I, Myself as musician stand up for Dallas. He has to evolve to keep writing, I know plenty of bands who have done this. He is an amazing artist. He is also my favorite.
I see where you're coming from, but Dallas is making music he WANTS to make and that's what he loves doing. If you saw the "in studio" video for Little Hell, he says that he doesn't care what people think about his music. He's doing what is true to himself, even if that means his music evolves into something a bit different than we're used to.. However, I'm sure most of the new album will be much like Little Hell.
If Dallas started rapping, I'd still listen to it. Let him do his own thing.

don't worry yourself to much, it was like this with little hell, there will be a few beautiful gems on there that are closer to acoustic, if you're craving his softer stuff soon enough is amazing, even though its a cover.

i'm definitely all for change in an artist. Dallas is broadening his horizons and bringing us all along for the ride. each album has evolved his style and songwriting, and each album is special in its own way. i think this songs is fantastic and i love that it sounds new and different for Dallas...it's his evolution. i can't wait to hear the rest of the album, and for those with doubts, i'm pretty certain it's gonna have a few simple, acoustic songs too. i seriously can't wait to hear it all!

Its always gonna be heartfelt he's just doing knew things musically to expand what he does. As a writer if you really are true to your passion you don't want to stay in one sound and feel you want to be able to do them all as greatly as you can. As for me listening to this song the words alone give me chills but in a different way than the first two albums but that's what you should want as an artist to expand and get reactions different ways

I actually feel like this song has a lot of depth to it. Possibly it doesn't sound quite as raw or emotive as some of his other songs,
but the lyrics are actually incredibly meaningful when you really read them.

I think this happens with everyone to be honest, I totally agree with you there, I love love love 'little hell' 'sometimes' and as you said 'bring me your love' albums. He says he creates music he likes and he creates music with emotion. 'Of space and time' is the same as this. We will all ways feel like his past music wont be as good because he's set the bar high in my opinion but I admire Dallas Green a lot. I love this new material :) He's playing a few fests here in the UK.
