- Settlement Survival is a game where the title is pretty much self-explanatory. We have to build a settlement and make sure everyone survives! It's a bit like Banished, only way more colourful and vibrant, and it sees us managing a little band of medieval folks as they settle down to make a life for themselves in a new land.
We begin with the basics, such as homes, food and water, and we expand our settlement with roads, foresters and hunting lodges. Soon enough we are building slightly more fancy things, like clinics and churches, to try to make our settlers lives a little better.
There's quite an advanced tech tree and we unlock a few things, including one very specific building which we try our very best to build!
However our population stagnates a little bit and health begins to deteriorate as it seems our settlers are getting a bit grubby, so we have to make soap and see if we can give them a bit of a scrub!
NOTE: This is the demo version of the game.

Lead your people to their new settlement in this survival city-builder. You will need to provide their shelter, guarantee the food supply, protect against threats of nature, and pay attention to well-being, happiness, education, and employment. Do all of this well, and you might even attract residents from foreign cities!
Choose where to build your settlement based on nearby resources, before determining your perfect layout. How will you build your settlement?
Carve out the land, join rivers, form lakes and use your tools to shape your settlement exactly how you want it.
Build housing, recruit Mayors to determine the morality of your settlement, control crime and ensure your baby-booms don’t negatively impact your resources.
Experience all seasons and heed the early warning signs of disasters. Bunker down and protect your citizens from the elements as well as environmental disasters, or risk losing all that you’ve built.
Offering powerful effects, unique themes and styles, rare blueprints are an opportunity to customize your settlement even further when you’ve mastered the art of trading.
Determine which development routes you will choose, with options that range from trading, education, mining, construction, agriculture, processing, logistics, and liveability. Each route unlocks new buildings and abilities to boost development. and there is no set pattern to the route selection, so you can choose freely and play to your strengths.
With each map randomly generated, right down to its resources and landmarks, every experience is unique and brings with it its own challenges.
Whether exchanging artistic items of high value, unprocessed products or unlocking the mint to create a common currency, trade is key to your populations survival.
Experience a unique game mode designed to challenge even the most experienced player. From the bubonic plague in Europe, to the Easter Island disaster, are you able to overcome its challenges?

Dung fuel doesn't smell and is very efficient. It's dried out - hence it breaks. So you should use as fuel instead of timber.

A lot of the tech is inter-connected. When you hover over tech, it will say what it requires for it to be made. It will say like such and such tech is required or it requires a certain resource to make the building or for the building to make something.
Your clinic does not work without certain supplies. You need herbs which can be gathered and if you are lucky, you can discover the seeds to grow them later but to grow them you need unlock a certain type of building.
Soap can be made from animal fat so if you can get a ranch going as you have pigs available and a butcher which I believe is under meat processing in the tech tree then you will be able to get fat that can be used for soap.
This game looks good! I love that the tech tree is not boringly simplistic, that it's interconnected! Yay! So many games just have place-and-produce buildings! I'd love to see a series. Are you going to do a whole series on this when it comes out in EA, Penge?

Yeah i think you're right there's so much to do with tech etc. too. It's very limited in the demo. I'm really excited for the EA Version. :)

This reminds me of Banished in some ways... yet it is its own game as well. I'll give the demo a try. Don't worry... I'll make sure to reach "tea"... and I know you'll probably play and do the same when you get a bit of time to yourself.
