It was so reassuring to hear that you had a hard Ramadan too. I felt off all month. Everything was hard for me this Ramadan, even the smallest and most basic acts of worship. Fasting has always been so easy for me and this time it was physically and spiritually difficult. I've been trying not to be hard on myself and reflect on what the lesson could be. What I'm starting to come around to is that not every Ramadan will be easy, perfect and/or magical. That maybe the lesson is that even though it was hard, you pushed through the struggles and it's a lesson for life and from Allah: sometimes things come easy, sometimes it doesn't but you still have to do those things and there's strength in that.

It was the hardest Ramadan ever I started when I was only 8years old and always said fasting is my easiest ibaadah but I can’t even imagine fasting 6days of Shuwaal few days later and i am still feeling draining Alhamdullilaah not complaining just stating how I felt

I’m sharing just in case anyone wants to read: So mine & your Ramadan as a mom is different. But what we're doing is raising the next generation & making memories for Ramadan. We are laying the foundation for them. So we struggle & it may look different but I promise you mama, it is all Ibadah. So keep struggling. These last 10 nights, try do everything you are with the intention that it is for Allah. One day our kids will look back & remember these Ramadans as time spent with family & remembering Allah. Shift your perspective that being a mom is a burden to that it is an Ibadah. That's the beauty of Islam. There is not only one way to worship Allah rather hundreds. Allah has made that easy on us & given us that mercy. So each Ramadan will look different. It's hard but nonetheless it is motherhood. Connect as much as you can for yourself May Allah accept it all!

I just wanted to say don't feel bad about your shortcomings with regards to worship during Ramadhan (the fact you feel bad in itself means God loves you), i see how my mother gets so exhausted after futoor for being on her feet for her family all day fasting, and it is definitely a form of worship to Allah. Another note from one young muslimah to another, I feel so proud seeing a fellow hijabi living her best life in the west, and not ashamed of it. Sometimes I wished I didn't wear mine when I see those around me with their hair in the wind, but then I just remember Allah looking down at me with a smile, and I always feel almost powerful that I wear it despite the times we are in. May Allah protect you and your family in shaa Allah.
keep pushing sis, live your best life regardless of what others are doing and remember everyone’s journey is different. may Allah make it easy for all of us 🤍

I’m so glad it’s not just me. This Ramadan was purely about survival for me, literally just getting through the days. I’m ashamed to say I don’t think I did any extra prayers or even Quran. I’ve definitely done better before. I’m just gonna take it for what it is and hope that I do better next time inshallah.

salaam eid mubarak! it's crazy how almost everyone i've spoken to has been saying the same thing. for some reason the *energy* is just not there. even though i tried my best, i feel like i wasn't able to develop that connection that i was able to form in previous years :( inshahAllah we can continue with whatever good habits we developed during this month and build on those throughout the year
Eid Mubarak Leena! Just wanted to share a story when I was 3, my dad got me a stuffed rabbit and I absolutely freaked out when he gave it to me. I cried my eyes out and screamed.. Guess what I’m now 31 and I still keep that stuffed bunny 😅 it’s my favourite haha Hoping Alaina comes around to liking that car eventually 😊
Leena, on the days that it's too difficult to go to the masjid for taraweeh, read the 20 raka'ah at home. So you still get to read taraweeh. And if you can't manage 20 at home, read 8, or 10, or whatever amount you get to before you have to see to Alaina. That's what I do in Ramadhaan.

Everyyear before kids, both my husband and I would do 20 rakats of taraweeh at the masjid for all the 30 days, including quran recitiation etc. It had been 5 yrs since my 5 yr old has been born and I have not stepped into a mosque for taraweeh prayers. Now with two 5 and 3 yr old boys and also being pregnant, this ramadan felt like I have done nothing. So yeah hang in there.
I am pregnant with my fourth child this Ramadan wasn’t easy for me either. I don’t do much reading of the Quran last year I remember I read 27 juz alxamdulilah but this Ramadan it was barley two but alxamdulilah I fast 24 days even though I am 13 weeks alxamdulilah Allah made easy for me . May Allah make things easy for us especially us moms.
Leena I have 4 kids and my youngest was only 6 weeks when Ramadhan started, eldest is 6!! It was crazy tiring and felt like I did nothing! 😪 inshaAllah though this will pass and they will grow up and become independent, in the meantime just have to remind myself this is also an ibadah like u said

Love love love your videos. I wanted to mention that if you were in an accident, Alaina's car seat harness the way it is on, would not protect her. It is hanging off her shoulder and she could easily be ejected. I hope you take this the right way. I know sometimes people help me with my kids and buckle them in - the wrong way. So, I always check. But it needs to be up and over her shoulders, the chest clip at arm pit level, and not too loose- only one finger should be able to fit in there. And rear facing is super important at this age. It's a lot but there is a ton of information and research out there about car seat safety. Eid Mubarak to you all!
