4:46 of all talk. Might as well have been on the radio. Why wasn't there even one photo of the brown recluse? It's a shame they are so impossible to film.

I was bit once in 4 places by a black widow, it got in my clothes. I had to be lanced. I lost a lot of blood before being lanced, because it bit me where it got stuck in my clothes ( my pants) and it swelled up trying to keep the venom out of my body it was aweful. They gave me pain killers, but it sucked. The nurses said that where I was bit is very common place for bites from them. But I didn't die, and I didn't go into shock. Just go to the doctor. Most likely will be fine, but do get medical care.

Yeah. It really, REALLY sucks to get bit by a black widow but it is rarely fatal and only usually poses a risk to one’s life if that person HAPPENS to be allergic or have an allergic reaction to the venom. Otherwise, you’ll have a medical bill and a terrible time but usually there’s a full improvement if I recall correctly. Glad to hear it turned out all right!

I lay down long strips of sticky duct tape in my basement. It helps you determine what is walking around but it won't stop the problem. You still need to spray some Ortho home defense to really stop them.

Some bad information in this video. The territory of the brown recluse goes from Central Texas to Western Georgia, up to Southeastern Nebraska to Southwestern Ohio. Outside of this area, its not a Brown Recluse. Also Brown Recluses are not hairy.

If they totally dominate and wipe out all other spiders and insects in the household, then what is left for them to eat?

    not *"poison"* -- *VENOM*
This guy of all people should be using the proper terminology. Spiders and snakes can be venomous. Not "poisonous".

Mom was bit by a brown recluse in 1974, once she finally went to the correct doctor 3 days of terrible pain, thumb turned black, the hand specialist doctor she went to on the third day literally whittled dead flesh from her thumb, then immediately sent her to the hospital where she remained for 14 days! The doc told my dad if she lived thru the first night he thought he could save her, then he thought she would lose her arm , a couple days later it was her hand, and finally they did have to remove her thumb!
