Thank you so much for showing this. I have been looking for something like this for my AK! Awesome
Do u know if the side plate will fit any mount or does it has to be the same mount from their website?
Perfect mount. Exactly what I was looking for without drilling. Thank you.
use a fired 12 gauge shotgun hull to ensure your hammer springs dont come off its super helpful wrap the springs around the hammer like you did and then slip the shell over top the whole shebang
I used on of these on a Draco and found that if you over tightened it that it wouldn't cycle reliably. I couldn't find that sweet spot of having the mount stay in place and having it cycle reliably
It is usually the hammer pin that is the culprit when one has the over compression problem. We have a proprietary 2 piece pin design to use when this phenomenon occurs. Contact us and we can discuss this further.
Dang I wanted to get one for mine. Guess it's going to the gunsmith
@@akmastermount3163 do these pins come with the master mount? I just purchased one like literally 5 minutes ago i would like to avoid the issue Mark Vaught had
@@akmastermount3163 i also should add i do not have a draco i have VSKA
Thanks for sharing! Def picking one of these up for my mak90!
Hey me too! Mine didn't come with a sight mount unfortunately
How did it work out?
Happy MAK-90 Noises
Thank you so much i have a nice maadi 47 and a Bulgarian 74 both are really nice but i always had such a hard time with optics. I didn't really want to try and drill the holes for a normal mount.
Best solution for a collectors weapon like a FEG SA 2000 ? Don’t wanna drill holes . Can you still see the rear sight when you have the rail on etc etc
My main Ak is a Norinco type56s and I've always wanted a side mount but never wanted to modify the receiver so this is interesting. Might do this on one of my Mac90's.
Just got a Mac 90. Did you ever try?
@@Elpolloloco47 no I never tried just ended up getting a Midwest industries gas tube with rail. Been my go to for mounting every since.
@@jimmyjackz wow didn’t even know that was a thing. Thank you sir
Would be interested to hear it you ever got an OKP-7. It's my fav Russian optic of all time but seems like getting struck by lightning is less rare than finding one
so I just bought a century arms VSKA Thunder ranch edition and it doesn't have a permanently affixed optic mount. This seems like a good option but looks like its more made for AKM or the smaller Draco style AKs. I'm new to the AK platform and got the thunder ranch at a steal. it was basically half off so I said why not. Good entry weapon into the platform, and I've heard they have really made a lot of improvements over the years since the VSKA first was released. Is there any other mounting solutions I can choose from other than this style?
I may put one on my Beryl. The Beryl rail looks like it'll ruin the cheek weld due to its height.
Great video! Thanks for the content
I was wondering about the pin swap at first, but it looks fine after seeing the rest of the video. I studied mechanical engineering , so you know I'm not just some idiot giving advice. I'm going to get one
Thanks! Will use this video for adding mine
Where did you buy that master mount kit?
can you put this on a century arms micro draco?
Will this work on an izmash akm made in 71...asking from a long way from US where Russian aks are cheaper than smart phones 👋🏻
Yeah, I run one of my 69 Tula AKM.
Where can I buy a master mount? I've checked several places online and can't find it anywhere.
Thanks! This helped with my install. Did you have issues with the pins squeezing the receiver and finding a sweet spot?
I've not see that issue.
what is the website for the side rail mount the exact one you have.
Where can i find this one for my Ak47 plz
What I wouldn't do for a tula 😍
Do you need the side mount to use the master mount. If you just want the rail
You need a side mount still. RS Regulate is what I suggest.
Any idea why my trigger wont reset after doing this on a brand new ak?
You recommend also using split/lock washers along with some blue Loctite?
No, just what comes with the kit.
Just ordered my first AK, and coming from AR's, I really wanted a red dot near the rear of the rifle. Glad you know this is an option. I wonder if there is a torque specification for these.
No defined torque as every AK has different wall thickness, stiffness, etc. So really it is a "tightening to effect" on your particular AK. We recommend using the included hex key and hand tighten, then just a tad more. The goal is to find the "sweet spot" of compression where the side rail is held firm, but not overtighten to where over-compression of the receiver can occur. Then degrease the threads, dry, apply blue loctite, and let cure overnight before shooting.
@@akmastermount3163 great info. Appreciate it
German torque. Goodentight.
Is that item works on folding stock polish circle 11 ak47??
Success accept I over tightened and stripped the screw locking the set pin in place
We sell replacement hardware on our website (AKmastermount.com) for reasons just like this.
where and how you can find such a miracle to buy
Perfect video
Excellent, very helpful.
Would this work on a vska ak47?
would it be possible to install on a century arms vska?
Yeah it should work.
Stay Thirdy!!
sweet!
Where did you get the mount?!
I need this one fir Ak mastar mount instald
Will the actual master mount fit on a standard side rail that comes with some ak’s?
Yeah, it fits well on a standard AK side rail.
Can you use the mid west industrial mount on this one?
Yeah works fine.
Has anyone done this on a new Century Arms VSKA AK-47, like 2021 or 2022? Does it fit?
Can this fit on the ca vska trp with the rak1 trigger, someone was telling me you cant and I dont quite understand

@@BabyFaceP hey thank you man even my local gunsmith was like yeah aks weren't meant to have optics lol so thank you again
Where can I find this
So I have a Century Arms VSKA AK-47 with a 16.25" barrel. And I have the same rivets on the side of mine as well, Does anyone know that it will work if I try this? I know it sounds dumb but I don't want to buy the Master Mount for no reason. If anyone knows please help me.
I just bought the Century Arms VSKA AK-47 and want to do the same thing. Did you buy the Master Mount? I also saw on utube the UTG TL-M47SR where he drilled holes in the receiver. I don't know if I want to do that and anyway it would probably void the warranty?
@@bobbyb7127 I did get the master mount and it works perfectly. I would recommend it.
Can you attach midwest industries mounts?
Yup
Will this work on zastava m85 ?
Can I put this on a mini Draco
So this wouldn't work with a left side folding triangle stock?
They're newest version might, but based on pictures you have to remove your scope. It also doesn't work with underfolders.
Even with blue thread locker it will not stay tight for more than a few magazines. I saw a video suggesting to use red thread locker but then you need high heat to remove for cleaning the trigger assembly. Yes I strip mine for cleaning. May have to find a gunsmith who can put a scope mount on permanently with rivets.
Use a soldering iron. Will melt the red loctite. Touch the end of it on the nut.
@@p47rr Thank You
Nice.
will this work on a century arms vska ak 47
You will have to remove some metal from the master mount with Dremel to clear space for those 2 large flat rivet heads that stick out on the VSKA on the left side of the receiver.
Nice !
Hammer pin will not sit flush no matter what I try
Here's a couple suggestions:
1) Check that the AK Master Mount side rail isn't touching any of the raised rivet heads. They haven't designed a side rail for every configuration out there...yet. If it is hitting then you will have to grind away that area on the side mount with a Dremel tool so that it sits flush over the interfering rivet head. Be sure to coat it w/a primer paint after to prevent corrosion/rust.
2) Do NOT re-use the shepherds hook/plate. That can also cause the threaded bolt head to not sit flush.
3) Some have recommended using a washer to mimic the thickness of a shepherds hook/plate to keep the trigger on center. If you do that then the washer will need to be bigger than the flared end of the bolt's head-to-shank (left side) diameter or it will cause the threaded bolt to not sit flush. I'm no metallurgist but would imagine brass or stainless to be the best option.
Will this work with a Midwest Industries side scope mount?
Our AK Master Mount side rail is the "standard AK pattern" dimensionally, so any optic mount designed for the standard AK side rail will fit. You can always pair our side rail with our own AK Master Mount AKM version optic mounts (rear biased or full length).
@@akmastermount3163 it worked on my VSKA but I had to grind a relief for one of the extra pins the rifle has. But other than that perfect fitment. I topped it with one of your quick release red dot mounta. Super nice! 👍👍
@@kouzman you had to grind something to make the midwest mount work?
I'm illiterate when it comes to ak's. Trying to get in to them a little bit.
@@IDK_what_TO_call_IT_ yes I did. It is easy to figure out where and how much. Go very slowly and test fit. You will see it when it sits flat
@@kouzman I'm assuming you just had to make the slot a little deeper?
Will that work on an amd 65?
Any idea if this this fit on a norinco mak 90?
Yes. Our side rail will fit any AK that has the standard axis pin layout.
Won't stay tight on my mac90.
Will it work with a yugo m72b1?
Yes. Just remember to then pair our side rail with an optic mount for the "standard AK pattern" side rail, NOT an optic mount for a Yugo side rail.
Do we have to remove the Shepard hook?
Yes, no longer necessary being that these pings are screwed in.
Can you link that?
I would love to see a dovetail mount like that on a shotgun... it just feels like it belongs... I dunno if it is possible, surprisingly it is very difficult to find examples of a dovetail mount on a shotgun, almost like its a stupid bad idea for dum dums... pssshh nah, clearly all of you are the problem not me, put sexy scopes on shotgun
is cool tho
First strike!
Awesome
Will this work on Century Arms VSKA.
I'm assuming it will
Depends on the VSKA. I have one so I had the same concern but my model has this annoying little rivet between the 2 pins. If you notice when he flips the master mount over, there is no pre drilled hole to accommodate this rivet so you'll have to modify the mount a little bit but I'm assuming after that it would work. Nothing a milwaukee cant do
I have the same one and same problem mine doesn’t have a sight clamp thing on the side😭😭😭I’m thinking about a new dust cover with a rail on it but idk
Dust cover rail works but at longer range it's not really all that reliable cuz of the way it wiggles. Ultimak makes a gas tube rail that's worth looking at though I'd check that out. Not entirely sure if it fits a vska cuz I havent bought one but I wouldnt imagine it being a problem
Brett Scena thanks for the reply and information 👍🙂
Does it fit on a vska ?
here for this answer
Yes, did mine last night. Some small grinding, with a Dremel tool, of the side rail is needed in 2 spots so that it doesn't interfere with raised rivet heads.
It will after additional material is removed from the back of our side rail (like with a dremmel) so that it clears the first and second rivet head that Century installed in the receiver holes where a traditional riveted on side rail would have gone.
Thank god it does! First time so buying, thought I could do with out it, big mistake
Acog
Is it an airsoft gun ak 47??
Just here to remind you that you asked this question 4 years ago to
Do you know if it would fit on my Beryl M22?
would this fit on a vska?
Will this work on milled receiver on Arsenal Ak?
Thank you
If you check his website, he probably has one specifically for milled receivers.
Yes it does thanks
