Fabulous synth. I auditioned the prophet v, oberheim x8, and decided to fool around with the Udo at Schneiderladen in Berlin just as a tourist. Jeez, I was blown away by the futuristic sounds and its non classical aspect. I bought the desktop instantly and stuffed it in my backpack swaddled by socks. Unheard of sounds. Unreal for the 21st century
Best $2.5k I have ever spent. Everyday since it has arrived I look forward to playing it and OH BOY do I get lost. Such a fun programming experience and the sound, the SOUND, paired with a good reverb (cxm 1978 in my case) I have never enjoyed playing another instrument more
I’m glad you love it! I have too many new synths than I have time for, and I can’t decide between the keyboard (my pref) or the desktop (live use portability). I haven’t seen much about the sequencer. Have you explored what it’s capable of?
@@oyoyoyo7624 Yes, I have used the sequencer pretty extensively. It's pretty useable for coming up with little riffs and short phrases, but it's UX is somewhat limited since the bottom buttons/panels all share functions. It can be a bit confusing to figure out where you are. I highly prefer sequencing from my Octatrack or Ableton, but it works in a pinch.
Great video. Do you know what is the functionality of the Delay Time LED? Mine never lights up, and I noticed the keyboard version doesn't have one. Thanks!
Thanks Alan! We have another video with the Super 6 coming very soon going through some of the factory patches, hit subscribe to be the first to see it!
I've had my buddies UDO S6 keyboard at my studio and I've had a tough time de-stabilizing it in a musical way. It's CLINICALLY stable. (NOT sterile, just stable.). I've adjusted the modulation with subtle LFO, detuning, chorusing, and harmonic offsetting best I could but it still retains that strict stabile vibe - that makes it great for certain soundtrack & sci-fi vibes. But I yearn for a bit more living character. It's a great synth but that stability leads to Virus type of sounds when I sit at it for a while. It's not as Juno, Jupiter or Prophet as I would wish. Even DCO's on vintage Roland give forth an organic timbre. No hate. It takes you places others cannot and it's FUN- but it's def it's own strict sound! Great video
You’ve hit the nail here imo. I don’t own any UDO, but for some strange reason, I so wish to own one, and at the same time, every demo I hear, it leaves me unsatisfied and frustrated. Which is such a shame because that synth looks so stunning, I could buy it just for its look! (The keyboard versions) I went for a Summit which is also fpga, and I do not regret my choice. It is maybe less sexy looking, but it has what I feel I miss in a UDO.
Can't help it, but the applying the binaural effect is like pouring the same sauce on every dish. Tastes amazing at your first time, but quickly gets very annoying and boring. Imho a Waldorf Iridium offers far more technical and sonic possibilities for the same budget.
Sounds lovely, I got the keyboard model then literally a week later they announced this at a trade show. Suffice to say: the keyboard version is now sold and I'm awaiting this to arrive. Shame the desktop doesn't come in that nice electric blue color keys version comes with

Best demo I’ve seen. Grew to see it being used for dance stuff

@@saysthetedd A great pairing with that reverb unit! Glad you enjoyed Tedd!

Actually the best TH-cam demo of the super 6 I’ve watched to date! Well done.
A high standing compliment, we appreciate it!
Damn, the video quality is already great but the voice sounds like it‘s from head space or something.
So good, instant subscribe.
Awesome Demo, can’t wait 🙌🏽
Glad you liked it!
Cool patches and the performance, ofcourse!
Thanks Zeeshan!
That Retrograde pad is UDO Super Sick
Took a little while to get right but paid off!

Interesting thoughts - we can see how you'd come to that conclusion!

I like your taste in books also!
It's all great, but is it worth the price?
Looks like a future classic... (like the old Roland stuff)
the camera zoom is painful, otherwise brilliant video and brilliant synth
Impressive synth that sounds a bit like a vst emulation of a Prophet 6
What!? 😂 Sorry but you’re WAY off with that.

Sounds better than the new oberheim

That's true about the electric blue colour, it's a lovely version!
