Sectional titles (apartments) are priced according to their location and market value.
Trish said a 1 bedroom apartment could go for R700,000 (43,400 USD) ... I believe these price points are for apartments in upmarket areas like Randburg (JHB).
We got our 3 bedroom apartment (1,506 square feet) in KwaZulu Natal (PMB) for R735,000 (45,500 USD).
We live in a small suburb within 2 miles of 3 high schools, a university (college), a stadium, a skate park, a gym, 2 gas stations, a pharmacy, a clinic and an optometrist. It's far from being upmarket, but it's very convenient.
Trish also mentioned there being a lot of available property in the market. I think a good portion of it came from unlawful evictions due to tenants being unable to sustain an income during the lockdown. COVID really shook things up for the property market because when the interest rates went down, it was like NBA free agency out here.

@@francoiswilliams South Africa is big so it depends on the lifestyle you want to have and your intentions. Johannesburg is the economic centre so expect a fast paced lifestyle. For business, Johannesburg is definely the place to be. Cape Town and Durban are far more relaxed but lovely as they are coastal cities.

There are properties also outside smaller towns like nelspruit where you can buy for
$30 000 for a two Bedroom, you get to live with the locals, such as emoyeni lifestyle estate, karino estate, kamagugu, kanyamazane township. although 85% of SAns speak english it will help to know the local language eg ZULU, there is water, roads, electricity and its safe, the town is 25kh or 35min drive
