‘79 Super owner here. Great advice but it can go one step further. Remember how Fender tonestack kills all the output if you turn down TMB controls? Well you can look at it as three separate master volumes for each band. So if you want more gain, you can crank the input volume but than you bring down the overall volume with lower numbers on tonestack. For example, if you set volume on 6, treble & middle on 6 and let’s say bass on 4, you can have more gain at the same volume by bumping the input volume to 8, than turning down treble & mid to 4 and bass to 2. It ain’t much but it works. It took me a few years gigging with this amp to figure it out. If that’s not enough, simply take out the V1 tube - the Normal channel won’t work but you’ll have about 30% more gain in the Vibrato channel. I agree that master volume pot should always be wide open (thus eliminating it from the circuit), once you turn it down it’s not the same amp anymore.
Very cool and informative video. I picked one up but I wasn’t able to test the reverb because there was no pedal. I grabbed a pedal and when I turn the reverb on there’s barely any reverb and there a TON of bad noise so I got to figure that out.
Nice work / review..I just sold a 71 twin and a 78 twin and kept my 77 Pro Reverb...The Pro just sounded better to my ears...I play Rockabilly and as Brian Setzer says...All you need to get a great sound is get an all tube Vintage Fender Amplifier.. Amen...Cheers Frank The Memphis Suns
Why do I never see the Fender ProSonic reviewed? Probably the best amp they ever made. If I'm not mistaken it was the original triple rectifier. Killer amp.🤘
put your main volume on your amp very low, like a 1 2 or 2 and half, then turn your guitar volume to 5 up to 10 , the higher you go on your guitar the more distortion you will get. This is called "overdriving" your amp. did that work for you? ps make sure when you do this your second amp volume is like a 4 or 5 , not high.

I have the exact same,'79 Pro for playing live & thats how I run mine, it works great! Underrated amps.
Cheers.

still have mine. always loved it
Great demo! 66 owner here…
Great video! Great Channel! Can you get the Deluxe reverb 68 to sound similar to this vintage Pro Reverb? If so, with which speaker? Thanks a lot!
Great tone. I have a 1975 pro. Love it. I also have a 1972 twin and I like them both but if I had to keep one it would be the pro.
Why? Pro is better? For Srv stuff?
Can this be done with a 81 super ?
Ya they're both the same amps just about.
How the hell do you get it overdriven or cracked??? 😮
I don't get my own 79 pro reverb.
I used the Universal Audio OX, box, so the amp was cranked.
