Yeah, that was a good question: Why WERE his hands cold? Even though they were technically immortal, they weren't thriving. In a way, they were "dying" slowly. It's like what Senshi said, they had to keep mimicking normalcy to hold on to their sanity, but that will take its toll eventually.

The golden kingdom got turned into a dungeon 1000 years ago. The brewer guy started brewing when he was 600, and the wine is 400 years old. Delgal was the king who crawled to the surface 6 years ago and turned to dust, his soul vanished as it was no longer bound to the dungeon. The ghost thst guided them was another person.
I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure the ghost is... (BONUS CONTENT SPOILERS) Eodio, the son of Delgal and father of Yaad. In some side story content (I forget exactly where) we get to see a bit of the mage's descent into madness, and when Eodio tries attacking the mage for not letting them leave the dungeon, he gets his soul separated from his body as punishment.
It's great seeing you guys back together watching these, especially considering how on a whim you were about choosing to watch this show. Things are getting super exciting for the end of this season. I can't wait!
Delgal's soul is gone because he died in the surface. The soul only gets trapped when you died inside in dungeon. Also laois' sword didn't have a lion face before.
Chilchuck downs enough brew to fell most halflings. Being able to drink even tallmen under the table probably helped in union negotiations, though as we see the island lord is kind of a pushover even when sober
i think his hands are cold because of the curse. they're alive but only because of magic so it probably has something to do with that. i don't remember if it's ever explained why.
So, if Laios defeats the lunatic magician, becomes king, and frees everyone from the immortality curse, then won't every citizen of the Golden Kingdom age to dust like Delgal? Laios would be king of an empty kingdom if that happens. Seems like a bad ending to me.
I'm not going to spoil how they work it out in the manga, but the logic as it is understood by everyone at this point in the story is that the new king would then end up with empty territory that they could choose to populate by inviting in whoever they want. This is basically the same thing that the younger races have been doing whenever the elves or dwarves ceded territory to them. The island where the dungeon is located is itself one example of how this process works.
And the Winged Lion is introduced! So excited to see how people react to his arc, this episode really highlighted the foundation of the new arc. Lot's of interesting questions and theories, but King Delgal was technically the only one from the "immortal cursed kingdom" to escape and make it to the surface, where the hold of the dungeon's spell to keep souls alive and bound to their bodies doesn't work. It's why resurrection magic only works inside the dungeon and nowhere else. So he truly did turn to dust. The spectre leading Laios and the gang were one of the many other villagers who attempted to leave, but only managed to lose their bodies in the process (and often, their minds, though the orcs confirmed the ghosts living in the abandoned city were still sane).

You missed something. Delgal is already dead, they said his was the only soul that has achieved liberation up to that point.
yep he disappeared right when people first discovered the dungeon.

i think the village is in secluded area but still in the dungeon, probably in floor 5 because the wine guy said he served his drinks to the orcs.
