    Incidentally, I think the only time I've ever damaged an Arduino was when I killed an analog pin with static electricity. The rest of the Arduino still works!
    PS: I predict that if you prefix the video title with the word: "Top" it would go viral! Good luck!

      The only one I ever killed was my only genuine uno. I don't remember what I did but it took out the pc usb port too. I tried changing the name. I need to do the thumbnail tonight. We'll see.

      @@AnotherMaker , I have zero data to back this up, but I believe that the thumbnail does not need to have the same text title as the video description. As long as it still reflects content it should be fine.
      You probably don't want to spend anymore time on this, but how about the typical mushroom cloud above a SIDE view (rather than top view) of the Arduino for the thumbnail? Just an idea.

    You left out my favorite. Power your Arduino (and maybe some LED strips or robot arms) from a non-isolated cheap generic power supply plugged into bench outlet strip. Plug PC into UPS. Plug UPS into wall socket on a different breaker, on the opposite branch of your home 120/240V service. Connect Arduino to PC's USB. If you really try, you can make a ground loop through the PC, the UPS, the wall wart, and the Arduino and fry them all together. Even if the two neutrals are only half a volt apart, you can get a lot of current through that USB cable. Now you know why Ethernet is galvanically isolated. Unfortunately, USB wires the "ground" right through from one chassis to another. As did RS-232.

      Haha there was no way I was involving my pc in this. I've seen that happen.

    Is it ok to connect bridge AREF and ground pins by add capacitor between them?
    I'm watching some tutorial where the author add capacitor between them.

    how did you go 7 volts and 36 volts at the same time? :P I was expecting an earth shattering KABOOM!

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'll be honest, I was hoping for an earth-shattering boom too :) I had 19v on one power supply (for all the inputs) and 36 on the other.

    Wasn't it the 6 pin sot chip that let the smoke out?

      It was. I actually filmed that part before looking at it in slow mo. In real time it looked like it was the VR.

    WHAAAAAAAAAAAT.? Lololololol. Waste not and want not. Hehehehe. After seeing your other arduino videos, I actually need some to TRY and create auto moisture sensor and mini water pump to have a garden and plants not die. Difficult to attend to plants as needed.
    BEST VIDEO EVER THOUGH AS NOBODY HAS MADE ONE LIKE THIS! Hehehehe.
    I think I need a full or bigger Arduino.
    Merry Xmas SIR!

      Well I hope that by sacrificing one Arduino, many more will live to fight on! There are lots of cool watering projects out there. I've never made one, but I know a lot of people have.
