Far East Asia has more Boeing 747s than any of the other continents. Why is the Boeing 747 so popular in Asia? In this video I share some of the finest B747 flying experiences from Asia; from the First Class private suite to the rear of the Economy Class cabin, it covers all aspects of the 747 journey.
Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Korean Air, Asiana, Philippines Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Gaurda Indonesia 747s are all featured. I am sharing never before seen and rare footage of these 747 voyages; I hope you will enjoy the journey together with me.
The 747 era may have gone, but the memory and legacy will last forever.

@@SamChui I hope the 747 has been flying for a long time so that many people will remember it.
Currently, the Korean government is operating the Korean Air Force One 747-400 by leasing it from Korean Air. However, since this aircraft was old, replacement was discussed, and the 747-8i was decided as the next-generation Korean Air Force One. I don't know exactly what register number it will be, but the solid thing is that one of Korean Air's 747-8i will be modified and used. Seeing that the incumbent aircraft has been used for 25 years, the new aircraft will also be used for a long time. Also, for reasons such as maintenance of Air Force One in Korea, Korean Air is expected to operate the same series of aircraft for a long time.

Hey Sam. Thanks for the video. It brings back memories for me.
Back in the early 90s I flew on a British Airways 747 from London Heathrow into Kai Tak. I’ll never forget that approach. Truly amazing.
Later took a Thai 747 from Phuket to Bangkok.
I loved the service on board with British Airways but the legroom was poor and I was so disappointed I was in such a big aeroplane with so little space.
The Thai 747 had less seats in it and much more legroom, that was how it should’ve been. I really enjoyed flying on that.
Looking back now, I feel so privileged to have been able to fly in to the old unique Kai Tak in Hong Kong on The Queen of the skies.

I did get a good laugh though at around 9m50s, you are talking about how you hope Thai will do a farewell flight with a 744... taking off over
Suvarnabhumi Airport. I think that's an airport that NO ONE loves. It must have the longest single terminal in the world. I can't count the number of times I have had ridiculously long walks to my gate there.

The Philippine Airlines B747 was my first aircraft to fly internationally (Manila-Singapore-Manila) in 2003. No individual IFE screens but music was available. Movies were shown in a projector. Not sure if the cabin was upgraded before retirement.

EVA Premium Economy 747 was my childhood memory! At the times when Taipei-New York still requires a stopover in Anchorage or Seattle!

My father flew.747’s as a Captain for CX, SQ, CV and AF - I was fortunate to fly with him many times in First and also be allowed to sit on the flight deck for landing and take off - later I flew first many times for work on 747’s. I also flew in the left hand seat a couple of times in the simulator with him and managed with two engines out to land surviveably with no casualties on 13 at Kai Tak so dad could practice emergencies and engine out/fire situations etc
I think it was very close but Cathay just shaded SQ with a slightly better First Class product particularly on long haul routes
Will miss these lovely aircraft so much
