- If you've seen more coyotes than usual, don't be alarmed. We are at the peak of coyote mating season in Illinois and while they may seem scary, they are actually more scared of us. Dr. Stanley Gehrt, at Ohio State University, tells us what to do if we do come across a coyote.

I see them on the lakefront (as far south as Belmont & north to kathy wastermen beach...) They keep a huge distance from us humans
They are predators looking for the easiest meal. Animal control is not going to help contain the state mascot….
City animal control just hung up on me. They don't give two poops about the coyotes
Call your state wildlife rescue
Call your state trapper he will take care of them
They get aggressive when mating . Do not approach them do not try to scare them off unless u have friends with u .. just like a male dog trying to find a mate they will get aggressive period .. yeah this show just cause about 20 people to get rabies shots..
Probably best to just bend over and let the coyote have its way with you.
They are BOTH DOGS.
