I love how the addition of some curved cuts make it look so elegant yet still sturdy. Bravo.
Thank you for noticing!
-Jamie
These projects, the bed and the daybed/futon, are great and have really helped me save money while getting the furniture that I need. Thanks for posting
Hi Jamie.. great build.. I've been toying with the idea of an all plywood bed too.. I really like the concept and like the simplicity in your design.. looking forward to seeing more content from you steve :)
Thanks Steve!
-Jamie
HomeMadeModern how many plywood sheet were used for the entire bed? And could you make a headboard for it? Thanks in advance.
i am deeply inspired to see a female that is extremely creative / talented and determined keep it up !!!! ☺
Thank you I'm glad I inspired you!
-Jamie
Very beautiful. Love the mattress!
I really like how you integrated the support "teeth" into each side so the actual supports just drop into place. Good design!
Thank you!
-Jamie
Paused the video right on that smile @1:55! Glad you're having so much fun. The bed looks very nice, love the clean simple lines.
Thank you(:
-Jamie
Wow that looked very simple and minimalistic ✨
This is exactly the inspiration I needed :-)
Thanks Jaimie for an awesome build !!!
Thank you William!
-Jamie
I love everything this channel makes!!
Thank you! We are glad that our viewers are happy!
-Jamie
Awesome project! Nice work Jamie!
Thanks Patrick!
-Jamie
Cool design -- the shape of the legs is unique.
As I was watching, it occurred to me there might be a much simpler way to create the spacers for the slats (with even less tools). The jigsaw looked laborious, and since you can't see the piece with the spacers for the slats, it doesn't really need to be cut from a single piece. You could do it easily with a circular saw by cutting a base piece for the stretcher, then cutting divider pieces from a separate piece using a circular saw and/or miter saw with stop block, and then gluing the spacers to the base piece. I'm only mentioning because I know every time I build something, I inevitably figure out a much better and easier way I could have done it after I'm done :) Great job again with this design.
Yes I agree! There are definitely multiple ways to making that cut. Thank you for your awesome suggestion (:
-Jamie
Oh my days
What a nice and elegant looking bed.well done,Jamie.keep doing creative stuff will ya.Cheers!!
Thank you so much for your comment and watching!
-Jamie
Another terrific video! I'd love to see what you guys would do with bunk beds.
Super simple and super cool! Very cool design and build. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for stopping by!
-Jamie
Thats beautiful. I wish these were sold like this!!
Awesome to see plywood being used in projects like this, good work!
Thanks!
-Jamie
I love the design but like a higher bed. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome project. When I own my own home I will never have to buy... I'll build. Jamie its nice that you take time out to reply to most of the comments. Sweet of you :)
Thank you for watching! I apperciate all of my viewers for their comments and feedback, it's the least I can do (:
-Jamie
Brilliant. I go camping at a lot of festivals and camps and ive used this design to make a bed that fits easily in a car and yet gives me the only proper bed for miles around. This has meant ive had some terrible nights sleep (but only because ive invited someone back to try out my amazing bed. 😉)
Daaaaaaamn, she is doing everything by herself.i just fall in love!!
I just moved and am trying to work out making all my furniture from plywood (since that's about what I can handle right now). So this is super helpful!!! And welcome :D
Great! Thank you (:
-Jamie
That looks amazing. I must try this! Thanks for the inspiration. :)
love your work. from one carpenter to another
I LOVE my PURPLE mattress! It is literally my favorite!
Yes they are very comfortable!
-Jamie
You did a great job. I love the design.

-Jamie

-Jamie
Great video Great job Jamie welcome to TH-cam and HMM👍👍👍
Thank you for the warm welcome!
-Jamie
Good idea. Simple and beautiful.
I am really glad that there are channels like this on TH-cam! I know there is a lot of DIY channels out there but they are all so clickbait-y and they aren't really useful in daily life (aka slime 😂) your channel in particular has me feeling good about making things myself like a whole kitchen for wayyyy cheaper than what companies try to sell you, it makes me feel like I can save a lot of money in the future! Keep up the great work guys!
Thank you, I'm glad we inspire you! We always try our best to make projects that are do-able for our audience!
-Jamie
Love this style! Great DIY 👍
Thank you!
-Jamie
nice, simple, clean . .. thank you for making this
Great! Thank you!
-Jamie
I love watching all the videos, but I think I will actually make this one! Partially because I need a minimal bed frame for my guest room and partially because I only have a jigsaw, electric sander and a drill. I would love to see more projects that I can build with those three tools. I feel like it's a beginner starter pack! Will there be a blog post about this?
Jenna Friedrich I agree. This was a really good one.
Thank you! We will definitely do more projects with those tools! (: We will post the dimensions soon, I will post a comment to let everyone know!
-Jamie
That is a great starter set. I would recommend adding a circular saw (cordless preferably) to that list, because the ability to cut straight lines will open up many possibilities. (straight edges are virtually impossible with a jigsaw). After that, a table saw and impact driver would be next on my list.
What a cute Bed, superbly built!
Thank you!
-Jamie
Wow! This was so cool! Great video!
Thanks(:
-Jamie
Another great video, thanks HomeMadeModern!
Thanks Alex(:
-Jamie
Wow! I admire your work
Cool build and I like the design a lot. It looks awesome but I have to say I was kind of hoping you would have used the layered texture of plywood more. You can create really nice patterns by glueing pieces of plywood on top of each other to get kind of thick plywood beam look. I'm actually using this technique on my current project for the first time. I hope it works.
Thanks for the advice I will look into doing that for my future projects (:. Thanks for watching!
-Jamie
Beautiful project Jesse it turned out really super nice thumbs up girl.
Haha there is a Jessie, but I am Jamie (: Thanks for watching!

Pumpkin teeth, I love it! You go girl!
Haha thank you!
-Jamie
Awsome! Now what's a good way to quickly break a bed in order to get a replacement....
Or you can have two beds! (:
-Jamie
Take it apart and reuse it for another project or give it away for free to someone who needs it
I love your sweet voice, and hat's 🎩 off to your work, really appreciate,
I quite like the look of the design, and obviously you can make it with very basic tools (as you have shown). Thanks for sharing. I would be interested to hear if any of your viewers could give recommendations on how to smooth up that big curve though, as I find it impossible to make a nice curve with a jigsaw.
Thank you! You would just need to take a little bit more time sanding for a more even curve.
-Jamie
look up ellipse router jig
cut close to the line but not on it, then creep up on the line while sanding.
Two nails (clamp an extension piece to the workpiece as they need to be about 10-20cm away from the point where the curve starts and ends. Attach a strong wire between both nails, then guide the jigsaw with the wire. Depending on the length of the wire you can make any curve. Use a pencil first to see if the curve is the shape you want.
Great. Thanks for the replies everyone!
Way to go Jamie! :)
Thank you!!
-Jamie
Hello, love this build. We are planning on making another one, however I'm looking at your blog and cannot find this particular one. Are there any size requirements that you used for your particular one? We would be making one for a twin size bed.
I just loved it. I was just wondering if one day you could do a double bed just like this one and upload the tutorial. Thank you!
It's a possiblity! Thank you (:
-Jamie
Love it!! Can you do measurements etc?
I have a goal to make two for my daughters. Great job
Great can't wait to see it!
-Jamie
I was just about to start making your plywood platform bed. So glad i saw this video first, I like this design much better. Also I was wondering of you have a link or if you could tell me where you got the blanket and sheets that on the bed? Thanks!

-Jamie
cool jamie good job....
I m so gald to see now I am able make my own bed
Awesome job and you inspired me. You may want to use the clamps to clamp your boards down while cutting.
Haha great idea, I will keep that in mind for future projects (:
-Jamie
Simple and cool!

-Jamie
I really love it
Love the project, Jamie! I had the pleasure of meeting Ben this weekend at the Haven conference and learned so much from him! I actually asked him to collaborate with me on a build, and surprisingly, he said yes. HA! Maybe it's time for a little trip to Cali....? Great project! Oh, and we have a mattress like that. Pretty cool the way they fluff up like that! ~Serena, Thrift Diving
Awesome! Thanks for watching (:
-Jamie
Wow Ben....nice hair XD
lol, thanks
-Jamie
Lmao. Btw, great video Jaime!!!
thank you!
-Jamie
I'm new to the chanel, great project. What changes would you do for Queen size bed?
For a queen sized bed, the slats would need to be longer & extra supports should be added on the bottom of the frame!
-Jamie
great job!!
Thanks!
-Jamie
I love that bed
Nice bed, great design. Would be easy enough to add another middle leg for larger beds also :D
Yes! Thank you!
-Jamie
Wonderful tutorials, wonderful vids and wonderful people !! With accessible tools, amazing stuffs. You're the best ^^ If it does not hard for you, can I suggest something? Can u add in videos or at least in a description metric system dimensons? Thank u, and also i will recommend to everybody this channel.
Thanks for the suggestion. We will have all the dimensions up on our website soon (: Thank you for sharing & watching!
-Jamie
Nice project. Well done. How many 4x8 sheets did you use in total for this project? Is it 18mm plywood?
I used a total of two sheets! Each were 3/4" thick. Thanks!
-Jamie
Nice job!
Thank you!
-Jamie
Pumpkin teeeeeeth XD awesome
haha yeah they really do look like pumpkin teeth (: Thanks!
-Jamie
me gustó mucho tu video , quisiera saber como se llama ese tipo de colchón
Great simple design. Without seeing it in person, it looks prone to racking left/right. Is it really that strong or do you think a cross member in the vertical orientation may at be needed?
For this particular frame made for a twin XL, it's pretty sturdy. My friend who weighs about 200lb tested it out and there was no racking of any sort (:. For a bigger sized mattress I would say there will need to be middle support for sure. Thanks for watching!
-Jamie
Oh that makes complete sense, I completely missed that it was a twin. Thank you for the clarification. I've been looking for a relatively easy option for a guest bed in our basement and this is a winner!
Just great, my daughter will love it, do you have the measurements available?
Francisco Medina just go by the size of the mattress you will use. Very easy to determine/ figure out
Yes soon, I will let everyone know when it is up!
-Jamie
Go Jamie!!! :D
Thank You (:
-Jamie
Ficou ótimo,parabéns
I think Goldilocks in the Purple commercials is so cute.
What size bed mattress is that?
hey how much did all this cost?
very pretty how many sheets of ply did u use i imagine u used 3/4" ply
I used two & yes they were 3/4" thick (:
-Jamie
Very nice! Thank you.
Thank you!
-Jamie
Girl....i never see a girl like you...you are so fast!!!...AMAZING project 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍...congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love this idea. The bed frame looks simple enough to do, but I probably will fail because I haven't used a single hammer in my life lol
You can do it! Everything is worth a try (:
-Jamie
rad design!
Thanks!
-Jamie
How would you suggest supporting the slats for a slightly wider bed? (54", with this being 37.5")
Yes I believe that would be a great idea. You can also just add more slats, to me 3" was a good size slat (:
-Jamie
Was this made with one piece of plywood? Also, what kind of plywood did you use?
This was made with two pieces of plywood (more like one and a half to be exact)! The plywood I used was 3/4" thick, I believe this is the one I used:
www.homedepot.com/p/PureBond-3-4-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Maple-Plywood-263012/100548908
But really you can use any type of wood/plywood! (:
-Jamie
HomeMadeModern thanks! I asked you this not to long ago. I scrolled down and found the answer. Lol...thanks again.
Is there any measurements for the same
