Hay buy some Sulfuric acid and put in a bucket. then dip your clutches in it for 30 sec's. they will boill!!!!! then immediately take out and rinse off thoroughly with water hose. do this about 5 times per clutch. then soak them overnight in pure water to counter act any acid you might have missed. it will turn your clutched black but that black film can be rubbed off with scotch bright pads. you can take the most dirty , old rusty , grimmy clutch and do this to it and it will almost look new again. be careful with the acid it is very strong. it will not hurt any part of the clutch if done like i explained. hope this will help you save a few clutches. just wanted to share this with you. if you have never seen this done it is amazing to watch
i just cleaned up my helix with a dremel flap disk and then polished. fingers crossed. no ready to buy a new helix. also my new buttons are updated and not simetrical. hope they work.
@@montemania198210 i know the only way to ensure even contact between all 3 buttons throughout the movement would be 3 dial indicators used while cleaning up the helix. but i'm not going to be that anal on a 96 sportsman lol. my snap ring wore into the helix. my clutch was locked up. all seems good now. i couldn't get about 30mph. and your video along with a little research has me thinking thats why. my primary and belt were brand new polaris parts when i bought this machine for only 500. think i did pretty well considering the cost of those other parts.
My Sportsman 570 makes a godawful noise when it reaches working temperature, it seems like it comes from the clutch. At first I thought the timing chain tentioner was shot, and the chain was flapping around, but that wasn't it. Can it be the needle bearing?
Great :) belt was slipping, all was beautiful outside, but boy my buttons are a lot worst and I got groves!! (not groovy) and my a lot of metal eaten on edge of O-Ring clip, almost gone! Fine buy I make :( Amazon here I come.... (Quebec)
I have Polaris xp 1000 2017 I go uphill and the torque wont go to the wheels it feels like belt slip but the belt its not slipping Also i try to burn tires at full gas and tires wont spin/ i cant burn out The engine feels strong but the power wont go to the wheels

If a primary only clamps down at 50% or more throttle, what is that telling me?
Great!
Hey my secondary clutch is clean and looks good but I can’t twist it all the way it is super hard is that how it should be or do i need a new one
Some can be hard depending on what spring is in it. However more then likely the buttons and helix are worn out.
