It's heart breaking for me finding out that this pastor observes Christmas. I fell in love with amazing facts because of him. I don't believe that God would ever be okay with us celebrating a day that originally was given to celebrate the birth of the so called Sun God. I stopped celebrating Christmas when I found out where it comes from. This is so disappointing and sad
Pr Dough is not interested in Christmas idea however commonsense is he acknowledges that there was one time in humans sinful history God sent his Son to be born of a earthly women and so he can live and Die for us Sinners so we can have eternal life..If u have a problem with Christmas
I grew up Adventist. Some Adventist don't celebrate Christmas, some do. Our family was kind of in between. We didn't really see it as a religious holiday, but more a chance to get together with family. Which should be celebrated. What I mean to say is that in the Adventist world, it's not really a requirement/part of the religion. There are sermons on Jesus's birth because that's the topic of the season. The churches will be decorated because it's an enjoyable thing to see and do. It doesn't go much farther than that. That's not to say you don't have an excellent point. Christmas has a lot of pagan roots and it's very much viewed as a Catholic holiday. Fellow Adventist, feel free to correct me. By the way, Walter Veith is a very interesting speaker, especially on such topics. I think you'd enjoy listening to him.
Thank you for your words. I totally regret leaving that message because it was judgmental. I believe the pastor is a good man who preaches the truth. I pray for forgiveness. @Sandy12595
I agree wholeheartedly with you but this bringing of idolatrous decorations into the church is the result of never coming out fully against Christmas. GOD is very clear that we shouldn't worship him the way the Heathen worshipped their gods. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1 "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ!" Neither Paul or any other of the Apostle celebrated Christmas. In fact it didn't enter the church until the 4th century AD.
My sister who was my mentor believes once saved always saved and you dont need to ask for firgiveness again as you are forgiven for future sins too. It breaks my heart because she is so set in what she believes. 😂
The scripture says in 2 Thessalonisns 5.14 Now we exhort you brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient towards all men. All we can do is pray that God will open their eyes. Amen. ❤
I'm sad to hear that your sister has adopted a doctrine of the devil. I have some questions that I would like you to ask her for me (tell her an enquiring mind wants to know). 1). If I live in Heaven, am I "saved!"? If she says yes, repeat to her "and once saved always saved right!"? If she says yes, then ask her what happened to the devil or Lucifer? 2). Read Ezekiel 18 (whole chapter) but the focus is on verse 24. Is the "righteous" man "saved"? 3). Paul I. 1 Corinthians 9 (whole chapter but the focus is on) verses 24-27 What does Paul mean in verse 27 when he says "27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a "castaway". That word "castaway" means worthless, rejected. Could Paul be echoing Jesus in Luke 9: 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. The bottom line is, when we are "saved" our lifestyle will reflect it see Galatians 5:18-26 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Have a Blessed day and may The Most High GOD be with you in Jesus name!
Let not the decoration be the stumbling block - but the meaning of the sermons.
