Subaru NA engines are actually very reliable. And for the most part are the same or use the same parts so parts everywhere.
Id be more worried about the trans.
If you’ve ever seen this car in person, you know how tiny it is and with a manual transmission this thing would be a blast to drive!

Kinda reminds me of a Miata. I love those little cars. Super fun to drive, and most of them are Manuals! 😊
The Miata is even smaller than these.
I just picked up a late model 2018 MX-5 RF with the bigger engine and it's great fun, absolutely love it. People scoff at 181HP but it's plenty of grunt for such a small car that handles well.
I went with the WRX. Boxer engine with turbo and AWD. I found the handling better and throttle response better. Same general price with more HP and torque.
Don’t forget the standard limited slip differential!
They should've done an all out track spec with a power bump, weight reduction and cage setup. This is the perfect platform for it

I love the front end and the overall updated design looks better than previous model. I don't understand why they went with the Honda civic looking tail lights. Just like they did on the impreza. Those got so much hate and they look so out of place on this car when comparing the smooth rounded headlights and overall smooth body lines.
I really am looking at these or 370zs tbh I want a sports car for a 2nd vehicle and love the color he has on screen too😂 I’ve looked at everything and I have a truck so I decided a v4/v6 was definitely what I was looking for something smaller for the main thing and also gas mileage and I wanna make a sleeper build if I get the $ to one day

Unfortunate that the base is going for around $36k and the premium $39k-$42k.. just plain stupid honestly. We need buy direct from manufacturer already, or at least need these car makers to put their foot down on mark ups. Stupid.

I’ve been driving a ‘17 BRZ for years & my only complaint is the rough transmission & shifting. Not sure if the owner before me was rough on it but it can be very stiff

Why don't cars nowadays come with good fitment from factory ?? Like, you have these sexy, one of a kind cars, and they all come with the wheels tucked a good half a inch, and a 2 inch lift. Even on some hypercars too. I don't understand why

I’m torn between this and the Mazda MX-5. I am 6’2” However
Toyota has outright denied warranty for engine failures on track drives. There was another incident with everything on camera and still denied
One tip i've learned to avoid this is to pretty much hide or your plate while going on the track

30k for that whip just seems crazy af to me. Shit interior, shit ride quality & simply not that fast or powerful but still THIRTY K. nah bruh. I cannot comprehend for the life of me why this car doesn’t start at like 21k. It’s even more expensive than a top of the line jetta R line. To spend that type of money I’d get a GTI. A bit more but soooooo much bang for ur buck.

Driver's cars are mostly manuals, that's the whole point. Like, the Mazda MX-5 (Miata) comes in both manual and auto, but the majority are manuals.

@@dnegel9546just to point out, it seems all of you just look at these cars at face value. But this car's philosphy of why it is the way it is is because it has lineage. This is suppose to be a successor the iconic AE86, it was a lightweight RWD 2-door road car that comes with an NA 4 cylinder. Although back when Scion existed they provided a production supercharger kit but they wouldnt actually install it and you would have to figure it out yourself

I’m 6’5” and own this exact car (2022 GR86) & fit great.
If budget at $25k is a constraint, I’d recommend the predecessor of this though.. A couple year old Toyota GT86 or Suburu BRZ will fit you almost the same & similar driving experience.
