What he says around 11:00 is not true -- the Git repo does *not* contain all the revisions back to 0.1. When they switched to git, they decided to import the current kernel release and then start committing on top of it. So the history only goes back to somewhere in the 2.4-2.6 range if I remember correctly.
Something needs to be done to fix the "image from the press" as people's behaviour is getting ridiculous to the point where it's _now it's hindering advancement._
