This pullback has been increased cos of the recent Middle East escalation, it always seems to have this type of news when the market is testing a big resistance like the week 20ma , would you be more cautious of adding positions cos of current news ?

Thanks Jason, I appreciate your regular, good and consistent videos. However you seem to intentionally leave out certain critical yet basic parts of your analysis such as “ wide trailing stops” specifics, and others. I also realize that you’re doing the videos as part of a revenue generating business plan to attract members and you’re very conservative, however, from my perspective if the most you have to offer in your membership plan is the specifics of “wide trailing stop”, it doesn’t warrant becoming a paying member. The typical approach that I see some of these very popular channels in the US do is, they have a large repertoire of skills, they disclose the basics on their videos and people including myself will gladly pay to participate and learn the advanced skills. This is just a suggestion and thanks for your big picture videos.

Unfortunately this is another 10 minutes clip of not much information. No one knows what’s going to happen but technical analysis is not just moving averages and wide trailing stops. There’s momentum indicators,RSI, ATR and volume and others for direction.
There’s obviously a free fall in place.
Needs a lot more consolidation to take place and the market is still overvalued and taking into account macro factors there’s reason for uncertainty.
These other indicators are crucial though. Providing 10 minutes of guesswork on 1 indicator is not very productive information especially for a 10 minute clip or 2.
I’m not sure many Motion Trsder subscribers get value for money for a $2000 a year investment.

Keeping things simple is a skill in itself. Many people overcomplicate their analysis with multiple indicators. The more layers you add, the less effective the analysis. That said, when I outline some of the possibilities, it's the synthesis of a much more than one index. A multi-week pullback to a rising 100-day MA isn't a market in freefall. Of course, that could develop. But it's not the current situation. Thanks for tuning in :-)

@@MotionTrader fair enough re a free fall but look at one of the charts (forget which one) it’s just continuous red and the fall is significant. This has been a steady daily weakening but without observing other indicators, analysis is next to useless. Higher volumes on a falling market, ending on a low for the day, higher ATR, momentum fading (RSI). They’re all valid indicators for a falling market.
Risk management is key. The more factors the more insight into direction. 50 and 100 day moving averages are really wide indicators. Sure they indicate significant moves but they take time for a cross and what losses will be incurred in that time. Let profits run and cut losses short is the key. Narrow trailing stops on at least partial positions. Indicators are not difficult to indicate direction. Nothing’s perfect but like all analysis, the more insight/research anyone has done the better to form a picture of the market.

@@user-zm6kj4gn4v Les, we're not that far apart. I don't disagree with anything you say. My approach is a little bit different. But that's fine. The same overarching approach can be applied in various ways. For instance, I prefer to hold an entire position until it hits a wide trailing stop. This gives back more profit at the end, but it helps maintain a full position in large trends for longer. Which is better? Narrowing a stop on a partial position or letting it all run? I think it's whichever one a trader can apply consistently. Trading rules make a process repeatable. But the trader needs to be able to stick with them when conditions get challenging. If a faster reduction in exposure helps to stay the course, then that's probably the approach for them. That said, overly tightening stops on signs of impending weakness will likely result in an unnecessary exit from many good trends. As you say, nothing is perfect. But if we apply a robust systematic process over time, good results should follow.
