Magical. Gave me goosebumps all over. This piece holds a very special place in my heart, and your interpretation brought me back to those moments. The first, during childhood, hearing it on the radio and being immediately bewitched by its mysterious beauty- I remember sitting later at the piano trying to recreate the first 8 bars, and I always got completely stuck at bar 7; I just could never remember and figure out that chord (B flat minor), a then very foreign harmonic relationship to me, and I had no means of finding out what that piece was. Then, only a few years ago, someone I loved sent me a link to a recording of the Poulenc improvisations, and tears flowed down as this one arrived; that mysterious piece from childhood that haunted me for years. Tears flowed down again as I finally got to sit down and read it from the score. And they do now as I listen to you play it the way you do. It touched the depth of my soul. Thank you.
Wow... what a wonderful story and experience! I'm also very moved by this piece. It's a very fragile monologue and exquisite in the emotions it captures. Thank you for taking the time to listen and write to me! Eliran
It's so nice...🥹 I once stayed at an accommodation near a lake on a trip to Switzerland, and it would have been nice to listen to it while looking at the lake at dawn.
Wonderful. You took the time for this beautiful piece of music to enfold itself, playing with full respect for the emotional base of the music. Mostly it is played too hasty. Thank you for this interpretation.
Thank you J H! I so appreciate you taking the time to write this. This music has so much pain (and love!) so I landed on this tempo... Thanks for stopping by! :)
@@eliranavni1028 Thank you. My teacher and I listened to several recordings of this piece today to figure out a note in question in Measure 52. My teacher told me you played this piece the best out of everyone else.
Poulenc is like a breath of fresh air

This is expressionism? Sent shivers down my spine during some sections... in a good way.
Poulenc is usually considered a neo-classical composer but this is clearly a very romantic piece... Thanks for listening! 🙏
