    Tracks were in reasonable condition with Andersons still being slippery and a little bit of mud and bog holes still around.
    The long wheel base of the Ranger proved to be its Achilles Heel on the muddy hill climb but after 3 attempts managed to slide over with a bit more momentum.
    The Defender with its great articulation did all the tracks with ease but was not present at the time of the rock crawl section.
    Tracks driven on the day include:
    Andersons TK
    Bunyip Ridge TK
    Western TK
    Gentle Annie TK
    Bullock Link TK
    There are 4 vehicles in this video however one disappears for a little while to help a fellow 4x4 found travelling solo with mechanical issues get back to civilization safely.
    2017 RANGER

    The one thing I noticed is everyone needs instructing how to give directions. Arms and hands waving in all directions makes it near impossible for the driver to interpret.

    Awesome vid. How do you find the ranger? I’ve got a stock mq and thinking of getting a modded xlt instead of spending an extra 10k on the mq

    Man i view these videos everyday for my daily offroad fix. Still torn between 16" and 17" wheels as well as between ironman foam cell pro, OME bp51 and Kings.

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lcr34 I’m thinking of changing my wheels to 16” myself for more rubber. Big price difference between the OME and ironman. Plenty of good brands priced between the 2 as well.

      Michael Toomer or you can run 315 tyres. They are a few reasonable priced reservoir brands over here but no much reviews available.

      Lcr34 go 15""tyres.cheaper, and smoother ride with more rubber

    In my line of work we sometimes go on remote areas where the only way was like this trail and I always do this trick pumping the accelerator like in 3:26 and it always work in a slippery situation even uphill

    Hey Michael, love your set up mate. I've got a wildtrak too, same flares, 33's, the evolution bar coming soon too. Question: how does the rhino rack over your roller shutter go load wise with your spare? Is that pretty much maxed out load wise or do you reckon it's solid?

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fix FPV I have reinforced the underside of the rollershutter tracks with metal angle and box steel running down to the middle tie down anchor point.
      It can take a lot of weight now and I haven’t had any issues.
      Iv since moved my tyre back underneath and I use the platform to carry my swag and other crap when I go away so overall I’m happy with the platform setup.
      Cheers for watching and hope this helps. If you want any pics of the reinforcement setup I did shoot me a email and il send.

    Did u do the rest of that track? Bullock link track?

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brent Way I only did that rocky section. I didn't include the whole footage because it is quote long and it was for another video but after I got to the first major rock ledge there was a bit of track building to get over it. It was getting late and some of the guys behind didn't want to attempt it so I turned around and went back down.
      I heard the rest of the track is pretty tough. Maybe another day. Thanks for watching. 👍

    how much are you going to be spending modding a stock ranger wildtrak with 33" tyres and 2" lift?

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Iv spent upwards of 30k on mods and accessories. A lot more than I anticipated at first.

      @@michaeltoomer4090 That's exactly what happens when you love it. All of my 'sober' estimates of what I'd like to have done on my LR3 have been fast surpassed because tuning is an open-ended love affair with your vehicle...

    I want to see if a jeep wrangler can tackle this. It'll probably bog down.

    • @Jamieandrew1156
      @Jamieandrew1156 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say anything a ford ranger can do a wrangler especially a Rubicon could easily accomplish

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brian T lol. With an 84 to 1 gear reduction it could have a samurai engine and not bog down.
      The rubicon would easily tackle this.
