Love the carbonX. It's a solid marathon shoe despite weight for those who can't handle the 4% after x number of miles due to absolute lack of structure in heel. The transition makes up for the weight which isn't bad to begin with. However, still can't wait for a look at the Skecher speed elite 8

yes, that's very true about hokas wearing out you never really wear down the bottom of the outsole it's more of after a while the cushioning just gets worn out and is not as soft and springy and then you know it's time to get a new pair. But you very seldom wear down the outsole before the cushioning goes dead.
sorry disagree - this is NOT a shoe for a slow plod ... love the out-takes ... btw notice the attention to detail on the tongue - they have a nice X under the lacing ..
I'm kind of 5:50/km pace guy, can this shoes improve my performance up to 4:50/km? Any thoughts if this is achievable when I use the Hoka One One Carbon X?
The "super light" marketing from Hoka really has infiltrated the talk about this shoe. Super light....ummmm NO. It's on the lighter side but far from Next% or Speed Elite light. I'm a fan of the shoe for longer efforts with pace mixed in but heavy for a race shoe unless going into a 50k road race.
I dunno man, I use pull tabs. My shoes are perpetually double knotted, so I don't untie them before taking them off/putting them on. That pull tab comes in handy for slipping them on in that case.
well I think they serve a purpose but personally for me I could take or leave them I guess you could always cut them off if you don't like them that much

This shoe is nowhere near being soft. Its false advertisement for Hoka to say this shoe is "impossibly cushioned" considering it's very firm.
