I think my favorite thing about this series is that each episode is a parody on an existing horror movie. Episode 2 is parodying The Thing, Episode 3 is Carrie, Episode 4 is either Friday the 13th or Sleepaway Camp, and Episode 5 I’m pretty sure is The Shining

Tessa seems to only have drones as friends, thus the "humans are coming" since she's talking to the N and others. She was chained to the wall too, what ever is going on with that might prevent her from socializing.
Also the two lines beneath her eyes made her looked more shocked as her mom talked about getting rid of the "broken" drones.
She also has blinking sounds like a drone too. Mom and dad don't. I got a theory that tess has cyborgnetic parts. her room is full of occult stuff, along with a mismatch of aged group possessions and has trouble fitting into human defined society which makes me think she's trying to find more humanity inside of her but ends up with getting eldrich horror AS from the dump instead. Which AS is interesting enough because her "regeneration" requires material and what is oil but petroleum which originally came from organic organisms aka "the flesh"

Okay so the shadow figures are humans, its simply a stylistic choice for ease of the animation process as well to keep a consistant design among characters. I imagine it be hard to animate humans in this style and keep it consistant within deadlines. Tessa's comment about humans can be misconstruded easily, its implied she doesnt interact with fellow humans much and identifys with her drones more.
I feel like some of the things the humans do (how they handle objects when they are shown) appear to be able to do quite more than a human should be able to do. like stab a fork into a drone and kill it instantly.

In episode 5 the “shadow people” are actually humans, there just only showing them as silhouettes. Either because it’s too hard to make humans in this style without making them look weird or it’s supposed to show us that the drones don’t even see them as humans.

Well they maybe programmed the drones to not see or recognize humans, WHICH EXPLAINS THE GLITCH WHERE N SAW UZI AS A DISASSEMBLY DRONE OR AS A HUMAN

My theory is she just said humans because she never really interacts with humans, only drones, and maybe since she considers drones as not that inferior to humans she could be used to calling them people

I believe the reason for the shadow people in Episode Five is the memory file being corrupted. N doesn't remember what they look like.
Tessa did say "There are humans coming!", but I think she was basically saying that she's only ever interacted with robots her whole life.
I think the reason Terra has the things under her eyes like the drones are mostly to show emotion like when she is surprised or sad

It's also something *I* do, talking about "humans" as if I'm not one. I'm on the spectrum and it really feels like I'm a different species sometimes.

Ep isode 5: OH SHIT!!!! pause and read the Message on Cyn's visor at the begining it looks like a message where someone or SOMETHING contacted her and offered her a second chance at life by offering the Absoulute Solver!! This means that whatever the Solver is it is NOT a mere program, rather the means that something is using to interact with the drones and perhaps even the Physical realm as a whole. also been commenting this everywhere because I think its worth a look by someone woth better eyes than me.

@@big_numbers Whatever the asolute solver is I think it manipulated/ took ccontrol of cyn and used her as a vessel of sorts to interact with the physical world. It's just the wording of the message on her screen at the start of the episode is very manipulative in tone, and it dosen't make sense for someone to talk to themselves like that.

I'm with Boom on this. The visuals, music, style, characters are all solid, but plot being somewhat aimless makes it a bit annoying when they just keep stacking more mysteries on top of each episode. Thank god we finally got something in ep 5.
The biggest issue this series has is that its trying to cram a huge story into only 8 episodes. It could really benefit of a novelization.

I wouldn't call it aimless. It's a mystery with the characters having very little idea how to get answers or what to make of the answers they get. And they *are* getting answers. Or parts of answers. Pieces of the puzzle for the characters and the audience to put together.

I'm not sure this was wise, but I get it. Keep in mind that this series is meant to be paused & obsessed over. It isn't forgiving about you missing the quick & small details. But at least you caught up with the main content.
Edit; as far as I know there is no official goal. Though with the rewatch value they could easily do like 10 & be set for life.

1:12:01 HOLY FUCKING FORESHADOWING! They were showing us in episode 5 that Tessa was possessed by Cyn/Solver! I never even noticed that little detail till now. Tessa was human but had the little robot eyes unlike the other humans giving us a glimpse into what was to come. Damn that's some good writing!
Kind of nice of Khan to build doors because Nori warned him about the "sky demons", aka Murder Drones.
Even though he's a mix between overprotective and, well, not capable at times of danger, he still tries despite that awkward moment.
43:35 this paper is not just any paper... Somehow Nori (Uzi's mother found a paper specifically the details of a Dissambly drone which as we know that is a different group... And the one we with was the "CYN" group and what i know is a administrator because during episode 1 where J hit N at the head to reboot himself... A code of strings showed on the top side left about CYN blocking the "Absolute solver" because she has Absolute Solver and she REALLY know how to use it (EVEN TURNING INTO THE CATERPILLAR ROBOT THING AND STILL HAVE HER BODY?!)and there is other groups as said in the groups yellow arm band where showed codes like the code name, group name,etc... That means there are other worker drones turned into the "zombie drone" (YOU CAN TELL ON THEY'RE BEHAVIOUR) (also uzi technically isn't a zombie drone because she did not dismantled and got destroyed and CYN had the chance of having the issue more because a dude (im suspecting its the parents of Tessa because she did die and placed upon the other dead worker drones and the killer crow failed to fully destroy her parts and if so... What is even the point of the movie if she isn't existed.. and they technically should count as a "Vampire drone" because they can't go under sunlight and needs oil (i think that doesn't count because wouldn't CYN also needs oil to survive?) also how they behave to...

The humans look like shadow figure and have those types of eyes because that’s how N remembers them. He fills in blank spots with robot bots since it’s all he knows.

To answer your question on how long the series will be, while I don't think there is a released number but the group that made this made a previous series that got 3 seasons and a comic so I have a feeling there is a lot murder drones left.

After this episode I've solved a few things.
1. The shadow people aren't normal humans they are more like half human half robot. If you look at Tessa's eyes when she blinks they make the robotic blink noise, as well as you hear Tessa say "the humans are coming soon" or something along those lines which implies she's not human. There is also a part where the camera is looking at the side of Tessa and her face looks like a visor. Tessa also has 5 fingers something all the robot's we have seen don't have. So they must be some sort of mix almost like the organic murder drones we have been seeing.
2. Uzi and Cyn have a connection of some sort because at the end of episode four where V was fighting Uzi V said "Different body, same horror's huh Cyn?" and i was wondering why? As of episode five we now know who Cyn is the maid robot that was defective in this episode, now if you look at Cyn and Uzi they both have organic type murder drone features when they were show in their murder drone form but not only that you remember at around the middle of episode four when Uzi stopped that arrow from hitting her and it turned into something organic, her absolute solver symbol turned yellow, like Cyn's absolute solver symbol. This implies some sort of connection between the two without a doubt.
They are normal humans. They are censored to look this way because Cyn f*cked N's memories up. In the episode 4, when N touched the tape, he got brief glimpse of severed human arm that went from shadow to normal skin and flesh.
I don't think half human half robots would need oxygen to breathe
@Lord Goos It's just a theory but that doesn't mean all of their body parts have been replaced with robotic lines which means the need to breathe could still exist. I forgot to mention with the 1st one that the shadow. People are probably normal people but because of the memories being corrupted. That's probably how they perceive humans..
