I have been searching far and wide to find a sewing machine that has sewing fonts. I just love what i have seen in this video. Tell me which of the four mentioned has this capability with both upper and lower case letters. I am excited at this find
Hello Melissa, well, search no longer as all these models have large and small case alphabets. What we would recommend is that you select the model B 480 with a 9 mm stitch width to get the benefit of the larger size of the letters. On this model you will also appreciate just how easy the letters are able to be programmed and stored for future use if necessary.
Dear amgrpie pie, thanks for asking. When you select a stitch, the foot symbol on the left of the screen will show the recommended foot. Click on the symbol and it will show alternative options. In most cases you can use foot #1.
This doesn't help me very much because I have a 435 and it doesn't show the letters up top when I select them so it's not as easy to write words! this is a different machine, I really need a tutorial for a 435
Hi Serena, Thanks for your feedback. You will be pleased to know that the user interface functions exactly the same as the model shown. Please click on the small arrow to the left of the letter D in the Alphabet selection screen to maximize it and reveal the horizontal view. See 00.21 seconds into the film. Happy sewing!
Your videos are always very good. However, some constructive feedback… Please have a narrator - to watch and read at the same time is very difficult. I understand not everyone speaks English. If that’s the rationale, please slow down the video. I love my new 475 Kaffe a great compliment to my 770 QE.
Hi Johanne, thanks for sewing with BERNINA - and thank you for your kind feedback. We will keep this in mind for our next video production (some of our newer videos already have voice-over, see for example th-cam.com/video/g63vNenP6iY/w-d-xo.html). Happy stitching with your BERNINA family!
Hi Kevin, thanks for asking! You will find detailed information on how to sew decorative stitches and letters in the user manual which is also available as PDF on our website. If the video is too fast for you, you might want to decrease the playback speed in the TH-cam settings.
Hi Eileen, thanks for your comment. Can you please let us know what kind of music you would prefer? I will then glady forward your wish to the video production team. In the meantime, please simply mute the video or turn down the volume. We have voice-over instructions on some of our videos but mostly use text inserts. Text inserts have many advantages: They make it possible to stop a video at any time and still read the message, they are ideal for people that watch the video on a mobile device with the sound turned off (no music :-)) and, last but not least, they make our videos understandable for the hearing impaired.
Thank you for sharing! Last week I've bought a B480 and I still setting up. watching a video it's much more easy than read the instructions 😀
That's fantastic news! Thank you for your kind comment and for sewing with a BERNINA. Kind regards from Switzerland

I want this sewing machine so badly !
What size foot can you use when making patterns? Is it ok if you use the number 1?

is there anyway i can get different fonts and languages? Your tutorial is very good!!
Thanks for your kind feedback. Unfortunately, it is not possible to import different fonts or languages or to switch between fonts as on a PC.

Just wondering if any of these instructions are in writing anywhere, step by step. The video is good but is too fast for me. Thank you.

This programme on Bernia sewning machines would be so much better if the music was turned down. It’s fa to loud. A voice over would be so much better.
