(From the US) Richard, nice simulation. To those commenting on Oz analog closedowns, I agree the HSV-7 tribute in Melbourne was the best, followed by the BTQ-7 closedown in Brisbane. The ATN-7 sign-off piece (Sydney) was ok, but that was something they used for many years (not original).

I know. I don't live in Melbourne but I live in Brisbane and TVQ-10 just switched off instantly at 9am on May 2013 during the Bold and the Beautiful. No tribute or anything, just flicked the switch. BTQ-7 switched off with a mockup like HSV-7.
Yes BTQ7 did, albeit a very short ending. HSV7's one ran for 5 minutes, and IMO was well done, would've liked it to have been longer though. It's a shame ATV-10 didn't officially broadcast this tribute, but the fact they produced it at least is something.
Adam Kuklych I've actually been watching all the analogue switchoffs all around Australia. Perth Switchoff was instant, no tributes. Same with Adelaide. Brisbane switched to digital instantly except for BTQ-7, they had a short tribute clip, following by the first picture that launched in 1959, the test pad for BTQ-7. Sydney switched to digital instantly at the flick of a switch except (Channel 7) ATN-7, as their tribute was the shutdown clip used to shut down ATN7 late at night. That clip was about 3.5 minutes long (I did see a video with that clip so that's my answer) and Melbourne also did the same thing, except HSV-7 also presented a tribute clip (the longest out of any of the other ones) before switching permanently to digital TV.
@@CigarettesAshtray5 I was surprised (and mildly disappointed) that SAS-7 Adelaide and TVW-7 Perth didn't go to the same effort as the Seven Network stations on the East coast. That said, SAS would've struggled a bit as they were SAS-10 until 1987. idk if ADS and SAS swapped archives when they swapped frequencies and network affiliations.
i remember watching the analog signal shut off in nz they just switched the transmitter off during an infomercial the tvnz channels could have at least played the goodnight kiwi before turning off the signal
