@@paulmorgan121 they are allowed to apply for UK citizenship from their dedication to the country, this is the reason the Gurkhas have their own little town at Catterick, because they all applied for their own citizenships
Went to Fort Benning in the US for my basic got to say British Basic is way different. Not worse just different. Honestly I could not say which is better. The British have a very proud history of hard core soldiers.

@@NUFC975 no. Any non white forces in the empire were separate from the British Army. The Gurkhas are all within their own regiment and keep themselves to themselves.

you’ll need to do lots of tests, based on your score if you passed you’ll know what role you’re suitable for you will do this at your local recruitment centre with various of online knowledge based tests carried out on what you know or what you can do aka again at your careers centre plus you need to sign up online to join you need to check if your eligible first good luck to you

Do you "script" it as a training team before taking the recruits through, or do you just command the sections/ platoon the same as if you were part of a "normal" exercise with your battalions? Good question. It is mainly the platoon commanders that will plan the exercises. Sometimes we know exactly what is going to happen, on other occasions we don't. It's a mix

I remember my training as if it was yesterday we called it battle camp.It was so different then and a much larger army we trained in infantry divisions mine was strencil in York at that time was the Kings division with kings own Royal Border regiment The Kings regt, Queens Lancashire regt,Duke of Wellingtons,Green howards,Prince of Wales regt Yorkshire and the Irish rangers in 1986 sadly all gone now due to cuts.
I'm a 29 year old who's had 5 collapsed lungs and can run the 1.5 mile in 10 mins flat. Been given the all clear medical wise, going to continue my training until I lose my pork belly and man tits then I'm going to push for 2 Royal Anglian.

I'll start by saying this was a fantastic series and a good insight in to what these brave young men and women have gone through to get where they are. But am I the only one to think their been ROBBED. What a disgrace. For some of these young one's this would have been their first proper achievement. Why no number 2s uniform? This should be their proudest moment all gleaming and shinning. What a shame. Good work to every one of them. 💪🏻🏴😷

I want to get into physical exercise, I just don’t know what or where to start of and the most suitable option? Thank you

Usually the best one with the best drills gets to use the GPMG towards final ex and onwards. Everyone gets trained to use it though in phase 1 and 2 I believe at ITC
Daley is pretty much spot on. Just to add, the section commanders will make sure that the soldier with the GPMG is good with it. The platoon commander will usually keep the gunners close by

I believe it remains the same length but incorporates covid 19 regulations, such as social distancing, etc
There has been a lot of changes; no swimming lessons, we did not get any weekend leave etc

I can run decently and lift pretty good. Aka I pass the RFT for assessment. But I carry a fair bit of weight. Could that cause a fail?
If you can pass the tests at assessment you'll be fine mate, the PTI's at phase 1 will get everyone where they need to be

Who chooses who gets the GPMG
Usually the best one with the best drills gets to use the GPMG towards final ex and onwards. Everyone gets trained to use it though in phase 1 and 2 I believe at ITC

This is a training battalion. Once the recruits finish training they will go to regiments across the Infantry

Its exactly what I've put on this series. Phase 1 typically 12 weeks. Phase 2 typically 14 weeks
I thought the Final Exercise was LFTT? Has this been changed or am I wrong.
Final Ex is different to LFTT. They are both assessments in the final stages of training and you have to pass both to complete Infantry training
