    I had never heard of the Whoopi Goldberg Show. I wish I had been able to watch it. She actually lets her guest speak and tell her story. That is so much better than the talk shows we have today.

      Right. It reminds me of _The Charlie Rose Show,_ except he kept interrupting to prove his intelligence.

      In a recent interview, Whoopi said she got into trouble because she made jokes about Bush. Sponsors pulled out and the network dropped her. She said she didn’t get work for five years. Then Barbara Walters asked her to be on The View. Whoopi says Barbara saved her life.

    Eartha is gone now but she said in her search for who she was she said she would get lost in the search .. the answer was always within we all waste a lot of time searching for something that is right within us it's like the old saying by Rumi "Knocking on the door realizing you're Knocking from within". {Show business helped anchor her in a way}
    Suffering mentally we all are subjected to this .

    when people assume that her accent or way of speaking was melodramatic and insincere, that assumption speaks to one of the reasons why she left the States and stayed away for so long..her leaving didnt have everything to do with LBJ blacklisting her. She just fell completely out of love with the US. Her accent was the result of her living in so many different places in Europe, the UK among them, while speaking 3 languages, fluently. The same thing is true of Grace Jones, who speaks with a British accent, often times...but speaks 6 different languages, fluently.
