Very excited for this saw, man. Thank you for illuminating the impressive dust collection - think you were the first to point out those little “wings” on the side of the blade in all the videos I’ve watched. That it performed that well with just the weird little Ryobi bucket shopvac (and maybe not even that tight of a seal from the port to hose) is indeed real nice like.
I really like the bevel adjustment. still wish the rails were to the front other then that it looks like a great tool but i wouldn't be able to have it in my small shop. can't afford the extra 10 inches it needs.
Now all that Milwaukee has to do is come up with a new miter saw that has a bevel release mechanism thats on the front of the handle (kinda like Bosch has). Also should add a better clamp than the twisty one. You should do a short video on whats the tallest board this saw can cut vertically. Maybe a piece of fat crown molding or baseboard Thanks for showing this to us👌
Battery powered saws are interesting, but when you do the math on a Jackery or Ecoflow battery compared to 3 or 4 of those 10 Ah 24V stacked lithium Flex batteries it becomes a no-brainer to get a corded saw and a "camping" battery to drive it since you get 2 to 3 times the battery capacity for the price (and it's not brand-locked at that point either).
The point of battery tools is not to be tied to actual power. If you want a power cord than buy a corded saw. It’s that simple. I love my Milwaukee cordless 12” mitrebox and don’t miss having a corded saw at all.
@@stevenpodolsky5164 I believe most all battery tools would greatly benifit to have ac power options because batteries only last a few years before they expire. If working in the bush using solar and a large battery bank. And the m18 batts go bad for some reason you can still plug into an inverter and keep on trucking. Having 2 sets of tools would take up too much shop space
I am really curious of how much deflection it has fully extended at 90 degrees and deflection on a 45 degree bevel fully extended. I am a woodworker and at the moment the saw with the least amount of deflection is the Festool. But I am not about to drop $1,700 on a miter saw.
Wow, didn't realize that was what the festool was priced at....dayuuummmm. that's why I really don't do any videos one them, but I'll be doing more videos on this soon, so just let me know what you would like to see and I'll put it in the video 👊
So.. correct me, if I'm wrong, but from what you're saying from 1st hand experience is this is a battery powered tool you won't wish you could plug in to get more power.
The DeWalt's were dying because they were not using an actual AC to DC inverter. The saw was natively 120v DC with a motor controler inverting the DC to "an" alternating current waveform powering the brushless motor. DeWalt tried to power the saw with regular "wall" AC current waveform, which was not the same as what motor required to run correctly. The Flex either seems to be licensing or has found a patent work around for Hikoki's inverter technology.
I've heard a couple people talking about leaves. I've never had the issue and wasn't aware there was a recall. From what I heard, ir wasn't the actual cells that were leaking, but a black battery protection of some sort. Thay said, I've heard the people that mentioned it say that the batteries were replaced pretty easily and haven't had any more issues, so they probably figured out what was going on
Will have to look more into this battery issue, but anecdotally I've had more issues with companies NOT issuing recalls when they clearly should, than the alternative. Every situation is different, but so long as they're addressing the problem that could be a plus in my book.
Great saw! ... BUT NEEDS TURBO! .. now look OhiO.... whats with that rain jacket?? you wearin your tank top, your heavy winter flip flops and shorts.. no need for any jacket.. smFh
Would you recommend this over the new Dewalt or Milwaukee 12 inch miter saw? I run mostly Milwaukee but I haven't heard great things about the 12 inch.
my only gripe is that the AC Adapter is an EXTRA $200. That should come with a $600 tool, whether you get the kit with battery or not.
Prefer it came with the kit rather than a battery. That way if you weren’t on the platform. You could start out with this and build from there.
i love Flex tools and their innovation.

Really appreciate this comment Typo. Wasn't sure if anyone actually noticed that I used a small vac for this, but yeah... still did awesome
Great presentation. Thank you for your time!
@toolreviewzone I would like to see a comparison video of this flex miter saw up against Dewalt’s 60v miter saw! Thanks for your great content, Clint!
those holes on the fence are neat as it lets you customize your fence. It wouldn't hurt to change rpm when you want to or add a turbo
You always add the turbo 😪
I really like the bevel adjustment. still wish the rails were to the front other then that it looks like a great tool but i wouldn't be able to have it in my small shop. can't afford the extra 10 inches it needs.
Great point, I've always hated lasers on miter saws!

I can cut 6 1/2" baseboard on the saw in the vertical position.

Flex did s good job on that saw. Wish Milwaukee would make a power ac adapter for all m18 tools

How heavy duty is the extending wings for wood support?
They are built very well brother man Ron
I love my makita xgt 12" 40v mitre saw , it's alot heavier at 80lb but it's a beast #2 after festool kapex
Which would you recommend, the flex or Milwaukee 12” miter?
Flex miter for me. The Milwaukee is great, but this is better in my opinion

@@ToolReviewZone yeah, they ain’t cheap, plus they rarely if ever have a sale. The deflection is my only concern at the moment.
@@tom.coomes check out the Diablo full kerf blades. They are awesome
@@ToolReviewZone yes they are. I only use Diablo and CMT blades on my table saw and miter saw.
Man those batteries are legit ❤
That saw is great and powerful better than that dewalt saw thxs for the videos flint
So.. correct me, if I'm wrong, but from what you're saying from 1st hand experience is this is a battery powered tool you won't wish you could plug in to get more power.
That is nice saw. I like to think I can make those cuts with a circular saw I Don't need but u make me wanna buy this one
Miter detent override?
Is there any other miter saw that can be corded and cordless like this one ?
Metabo hpt have 7”, 10” models that are hybrid like this one and probably a 12” will be release this spring as well.
@@rembrandtpacheco3035it’s hard to go to metabo when I have Milwaukee , dewalt and ryobi tools 😅

Interesting indeed. I haven’t had any issues with mine , but I didn't really use the converter too much. Appreciate the info 🙏👊
Do you know if there’s a spot for crown stops that might be released??
I think they will be releasing a few different things for this soon. I hear these is a new stand that is coming put as well
@@ToolReviewZone my man with the quick reply! Appreciate you my guy!
FLEX just needs to come out with a cordless framing nailer and I am fully on-board!
And they have. Fully serviceable too!
I like that thing, I might seriously consider it.
What would the turbo button even do on a miter saw
Everything I could ever ask for 😪
Why is the fix saw more than the Sliding Miter Saw ?
Are the batteries still on recall? It's the only thing stopping me from entering their platform.

No Turbo??? They blew it! :)
Makes me mad and sad 😪
HOPE THEY HAD THE TURBO BUTTON on the NEW HIGH TQ IMPACT WRENCH 1/2 and 3/4 this SPRING
If normt, I may just lose it Eric 😐
I still haven't seen anyone cut a 1x6 against the fence at 45° both ways.
Hopefully the next model has a turbo mode on it. LOL
It better 😡😡😡
TRUTH! I can't stand laser lines. Shadow lines are by far and away the best for lining up cuts
Milwaukee should do a AC adapter smh
The power adapter not working with the rear handsaw is orgasm interrupter ...
So you like Flex products now?
Where you been?
Finally
