The Multiselection Tool Plug in was amazing for this. I saved 40 bases in a 6 gig world and took it down to 1.1gb and saved all the bases, and the new terrain is perfect.
This was a huge help, I spent so much time on my world and didn’t want to start a new one for the new update so I went around and got all the cords I wanted to keep and boom have an updated world! Keep it up great content thanks again
Some amulet feedback from my testing... Definitely make a backup or 2 of your world before starting :) I have a 1.18 world where I brought in all my major bases from history into a single world, kind of like a museum of sorts. Used amulet then to convert Java to Bedrock so I do know the tool a little. My world folder was probably 600MB so pretty large. It took a few minutes just to 'open' the world and my pc is pretty beefy. It was painfully slow for me but if you only have a few spots like in the video, it's not to bad. The other thing I noticed was that originally I accidently 'deleted' blocks which have both x y and z coordinates, didn't use the 'Chunk' button shown in the video. I didn't realize this until I re-loaded my world and saw a giant 20 block high slice through the middle of it. So I thought I would just go back and select those chunks and then 'delete' and let the game regenerate them. Well, that didn't work. Even after I deleted all those chunks, that slice of terrain never regenerated. Not sure what happened but just use with caution, work on a copy. Final word of advice, if you are a person who does care about making more achievements in your world or that your world does not reflect that you flew around in creative, create a copy after you did your pruning and look around there first. Then play the other copy where you didn't fly around in creative. Anyway, great set of tools for a great game and great youtube channel :)
The wild update Is now out. After seeing the updated areas in your bedrock guide survival world, you should redo the seed in create new world to see what it would of looked like if you had restarted it from scratch

What I mean is that if he created a new world with the same seed to see what it would have looked like, if he had waited till 1.19 had been released, the went to the location where he started his diamond mine level, he would of encountered the deep dark. That is what I did. I just wanted to see if anything would of been different and when I saw the deep dark, I thought it would of been cool if he got to see it too. Maybe even of created a video saying something like; here I am in the bedrock guide season 2 world, or, what I have actually done is, that I went to "create a world", put in the exact same seed number, and created a new copy of the world. I thought I check out my base to see if any of it has been converted into the deep dark, just to see what could of been. And prowl could of done this without touching the original bedrock guide. Just to see, not to actually restart the season 2 guide, not that he was going to do to begin with.

Disclaimer: deleting 1.18 chunk can lead to a slightly choppy border (sliced trees...) Deleting 1.17 chunks leads to a harsh border without the smooth merging seen during transition from 1.17 to 1.18.
@@jonatandewaele637 Anything 1.17 and below to anything 1.18 and higher completely changes terrain and will lead to harsh border. I believe it is same for java and bedrock (using amulet that is).
Huge help, been playing the same world since it released on X360 and needed to trim some of the world for the 1.20 update and never knew amulet could do this.
I’m a tablet player, so I can’t trim my worlds. However it is very interesting to see how trimming works. Someday when I get a gaming computer I will come back to this video.
Do you have a PC that can at least install Minecraft? If you can install Minecraft, you could upload your tablet world to a realm, open Minecraft on a PC (no need to get in-game) download the world, do the amulet stuff, upload it back to the realm, then download it back to your tablet from the realm.
Haha, floating sunken ship at the end when you are looking out. I have had that happen. Once I had half the ship in the air and half underwater. (chest was in the floating part) Guessing between chunks.
I was really hoping there was a way to reset Bedrock chunks based on time spent in them like you can with Java. IE: filtering on chunks you've spent less than say 1 min in due to just traveling through them. I might have to try converting to Java and back.
That would require that the game tracks and saves your time spent in chunks. I'm not sure the Bedrock does this, so it won't ever be possible for a third-party app to filter by that.
This was a big help in getting ready for 1.19. After trimming with Amulet on Tuesday, finding all the new things has been a lot easier than it would have been.
So helpful thank you for showing this! I had started a new world in 1.18 and gotten a good ways into it and didn't want to delete all my progress so you just saved me so much headache

For me I play 1.18.12 and at that time I rarely walk somewhere far I just stay at my base and build bunch of farms so if it updates I won't fly or walk somewhere to find new chunk because I don't explore much on in the nether
I did this, now I have ghost portals scattered all over the place. Portals that are basically invisible, unbreakable and one-way. If you're gonna do this, keep in mind you'll have very glitched portals.
Hey there, I like that this includes both versions. I have worlds in both versions. I just watched Pixelriffs' video about the java trimmer. He warned us about deleting chunks in the end on that one. Does that same thing happen to generated end portals on Amulet?
Is this able to be used on a Realm? Because I play on a realm with other people(I’m not the owner), and we were wondering if there was a way to edit some places we want to remove for new generation for 1.19.

I've wanted to trim my world for so long but it just sounded so complicated and I had a hard time finding clear answers that I gave up hope for a while. My world file is like 500 mb and it's mostly just because it's an old world where I was still a noob and flew like everywhere. Loading chunks on a 33,000 block flight to a woodland mansion instead of going through the nether was one of my blunders that has caused such a massive world size. If all goes well, my world file might just end up being trimmed to a little under 100 mb :)
Has anyone else been having an issue with Amulet crashing on their computer? I downloaded my realm to try and prune it, as we've explored quite a bit, but no matter how low I set the render, it seems to keep crashing as it loads up the chunks. My computer has 12g of RAM, so it isn't like I'm trying to load it on a crummy PC.
Heya, I have used Amulet quite a bit and I just got the newest version to reset chunks in my world So... I saved the chunks at my base and a little bit of the surrounding area around my base, clicked "delete unselected chunks" like normal, it completed operation then I clicked the save button. When I went into my world nothing looked different at all while flying around with my Elytra so I thought hmmm... maybe the save didnt work? So I went back in and did the same thing making SURE I hit save before exiting, and the same thing happened my world looks no different, BUT when I went into neighboring villages all the chests that I had looted before were back along with all their contents. I flew around and checked other villages same thing, chests and their contents reset but all my landscape has stayed the same! so so weird!!!
I trimmed my world with Amulet and it is now incredibly laggy. I know it's not the update as my PC and xbox run all my old worlds and any new world perfect, but my trimmed world is barely playable. Any idea what may have caused this and how I can fix it? Thanks!!!

Hey I got a question, does this work to RESET the entire world? I'm planning on resetting all the dimensions from my 3yo world that has already been completely explored up to a 100.000 blocks distance radius from the spawnpoint, and with the emphasis 1.20 will put into exploration I might need to reset the world to enjoy the new stuff (without losing all the progress, got materials and mobs) so I thought on resetting the Nether and the End first, and settle a kind of bunker in the Nether to then reset the Overworld (If I don't reset the Overworld I might not enjoy the new things the update will bring) Does it work for resetting whole dimensions? Forget about the built things, my friends and I have just built very little stuff so it's nothing important to lose

Can we use this program to replace half-chunks? My base is 1.18 but I'm hoping to replace everything from y=0 to y=-64 to 1.19 Because an online seed map shows me that my base is built on top of the largest deep dark biome I've ever seen (with 5 ancient cities in the one biome). It'd be nice to replace the lower half of chunks if possible.
Hey I have a question, I did all the things u did and played the game.. but it just basically generated the same things as the old seed in the new chunks , so I still have to travel very far away to find an ancient city … etc. also this world is from my phone (MCPE) I transferred it to my Minecraft on computer before doing this. I have an older pc but the only thing that failed the "will it run" test program was the graphics card. you can visit chunkbase and select you minecraft version, then put your seed and it will show you all the world (including other dimensions), in this you can check your map for structures and other stuff, like biomes, strongholds, ocean monuments, woodland mansions, ancient cities etc
thank you for this been looking for a good editor for this. quick question i deleted all the chunks in my world bar some that had builds on all in very close proximity. when i went into the game and looked at my map it has not gone blank and still shows all the areas i traveled. is this normal or should the maps be blank other then the parts you didnt delet or course if that makes sense? many thanks.

If the realm owner has access to a computer they can make a copy of the realm world, edit the copy, and instal the copy back on the realm.

What about chunks rendered by friends but that you havent rendered yourself? If a friend goes to an area but you never go there. Does this show those?

The map data is independent. Itll still be there after the pruning

Yes, new stuff gets added each update, they added camels, cheery trees and blocks, armor trims, bamboo blocks...
Beware! This program uses A LOT of system ram! Letting it render all 50 chunks uses all 16gb ram In have an over 12gb VRAM!
