8:36 It may be a bit late but for those cases your TRX has the auto notch filter function.

Another great video Sean! I like how you speak a steady tone while you're trying to find yourself on the downlink. I think I usually just say my call on and off, or over and over. So I might tune right by myself in a gap. I'll have to give your method a shot.

Thanks Sean. I've never done the linear satellites only the FM birds using an HT with an Arrow antenna and then not too much. This tends to whet my appetite to try the Linear satellites.

Nice video series thanks for the info it's especially nice to see the demonstrations. I am looking at potentially setting up a home station for satellite. If I am using a radio such as the icom-9700 that has separate antenna connectors for 2m and 70m could I successfully hear myself on the downlink using a dual band antenna with a duplexer?

Another excellent video Sean. Do you still stick a duplexer in the 70cms line as an added filter against desense?

Are there any mobile radios which have duplex SSB capabilities? I believe the Kenwood TH-D72 only does FM.

Sean thanks so much for the info on the M2 antennas. I am in the process of installing them now. I want to use HRD Ham Radio Delux to control my 991A and track and contact satellites with this antenna. I have two questions, 1 is the 991a a full-duplex radio, it has two vfo's and can operate in split mode. 2 have you used the HRD program, what do you think? Oh and one more, how do you know which satellites are repeaters that I can contact? Thanks in advance.

How did HAMs work out the Az/El before the advent of the internet?

With the help of your videos (and a few others), I have made 5 contacts since 8 July! Using an Elk Antenna and Baofeng UV5R! Thanks for the great content!
