I got a new 8 Plus a couple of weeks ago and really love this thing. It is super fast, reliable, good battery life, great camera. I actually still like the older design and don’t feel that it detracts from the overall experience - and it looks awesome in Product Red. The Xs Max is just too expensive for me and I really don’t like the notch. I’ll be keeping this guy for at least 2 or 3 years, by which time I’m sure they will have refined the newer models. If you’re thinking of getting an 8 Plus I’d say go for it. You’ll save a ton of money and have a phone that does 95% of what this year’s models can do.
I agree because the iPhone XS Max cost around 1,000 dollars and if I'm paying that much just for a phone I might as well get airpods included with the iPhone
No matter what people say, but I can’t imagine trading this old fashioned desing for notch. It is just too cool, and I love touch id, which I personally consider much better than Face id. God I am mad they decided to discontinue this design...

if you have a large screen but when you play or watch a movie we hope that no one is bothering and enjoy it fully but when there is a notch it makes the enjoyment of the screen less
MoreTech Not really. The PPI is sharp and crisp still. Yes, technically it’s less sharp than other flagship phones, but come on, the MacBook with a 226ppi is extremely sharp and crisp. The iPhone Xr with a 326ppi is even sharper than the MacBook. The 1080p display on my 8 plus has about the same PPI as a 21.5 inch 8k display. Yes, the Xr has a low resolution, but honestly it’s fine for its screen size.
I got the iPhone 8 Plus just a few months before the price drop but I'm not even complaining. It's easily the best phone I've ever owned and when I'm using it, it feels perfect. Like I know I could use this phone forever without it falling apart on me. Also it's been blowing my mind with what it can do even now, especially with everything coming out on the app store and the latest iOS update. Oh! And it's camera is also underrated. It takes amazing pictures even in low light settings and if you figure out everything you can do with the built in settings and sometimes using other apps, there's soo much you can do with your pictures.
Nick’s videos helped me make my decision to buy the 8+ earlier this year and I don’t regret the decisions. The “older look” means nothing to me. I need Touch ID and 3D Touch. I personally like bezels and the home button
Watching this video for the 1st time. Just purchased a iPhone 8 Plus silver 256 GB a week ago and loving it. Had an iPhone 11 before and did not like it as much as the 8 Plus. Will keep using the 8 Plus till its not supported anymore or stop working. Awesome phone and design.
I lucked out and locally found an iPhone 8 Plus for $400, unfortunately it’s a 64GB but I’ve never had a phone with more than that so it’s not a huge deal. It’s also Product RED which didn’t come out until April so being only 6 months old it still has a 98% battery health so it hopefully should last me for a few years. It’s a noticeable improvement over the 6S Plus I had and I personally like the heavier feel with the glass back and prefer the larger bezels and Touch ID over the X. iOS 12 is running great on it and unless you absolutely need the built in headphone jack of the 6S series I’d say this is the pinnacle of what Apple could do with the “old” style iPhones and it’s the one to get and keep for as long as you can.
Damn! Nice find. I recently found a pristine 8 Plus 256GB Silver for $400. That was through a friend. I used part of the savings to get a brand new battery at Apple for $50. Phone is now fully loaded with a brand new battery-it feels like the phone just came out.
Ji i don’t mind that my phone has bezels. As long as it works, I’m good. My 8+ is practically new (2 months old) since I just switched providers and I didn’t want to pay the extra $10 a month for the iPhone X. Since my next upgrade will be with the XS or XI (11? I don’t know), I’d definitely have to learn the gestures and give up Touch ID.
Given all the options in the market right now... I'm more inclined to get the iPhone 8 plus. Still gotta love that touch id haptic feedback. And the screen is still wide, and it still all the premium feel that is in the iPhone X. So I'm going for iPhone 8 plus. Thanks for the video Nick

I've owned the 8 plus twice. After a while the design gets to me ie bores me especially the thick bezels however it is a beast of a phone wrapped up in a dated body. It's a testament to how good the phone is as Nick highlights iphone 8 plus is just as good as the new iPhones for a lot less money! Damn looks like I'll be getting rid of my note 8 and buying another Iphone 8 Plus!!!
Got the Red iPhone 8 plus about a month ago, love it love it! I came from the Samsung Galaxy 8 plus. I plan to keep this iPhone for a while, simply because I cannot justify paying over $1,000 for the last phone, even with monthly payments.

Nick, real nice overview. One thing you didn't mention is that only the primary lens has OIS (for both stills and video). The secondary 2X telephoto lens does NOT have OIS for either stills or video. Apple first brought that into play (for telephoto lenses) with the X and has also incorporated telephoto OIS for the XS and XS Max.

I love my iPhone 8 plus since day one. What a workhorse it is. No complaints whatsoever. One of Apple‘s greatest devices IMHO.

I just got my iPhone 8 Plus last week I came from having the 6 Plus for almost 3 years so the 8 Plus is a perfect phone for me all of us can’t afford to get the newest iPhone every time one drops to anyone thinking about getting one I wouldn’t be against it!

I have a iPhone 5s so any phone for me is a big upgrade. But I chose the 8 plus to upgrade to, cause I don’t like Face ID and the X is hella expensive.

You presentation was awesome! You’re right about the iPhone 8 Plus. It is an amazing phone and I also had mine for a little over a year. I believe this is the best phone for this generation with the home button. I still owe $350 or so on this device and I plan on paying it off in a 3 months. I will never, ever purchase Apple care ever again. It may be a waste of money. 😢

I totally love the battery on the 8+. It is my daily driver. I’ll probably wait to get the XS until next year when the price drops.
