It's the unspoken words between her and Whoopi at the end. Whoopi was showing her support and validation in a motherly and sisterly way. Like "Sis...I got you. You're good. You're HERE. You made it through the storm and you're doing GREAT." I love it. You can tell that Mel still needs that. And when you've been in an abusive relationship, you need that kind of support. I'm extremely happy for Mel.

I remember when they got married, they were saying how successful her ex-husband was; now we learn that's not true and to top it off, he was abusive. Be careful everyone.

I really relate to her as a DV survivor when she said "your life is like a blur, you're in flight or fight mode" and how 10 years disappeared and your left estranged from family/friends.
Yup. Not to mention, she’s lucky that she got out of that relationship with her face still intact. I wasn’t so lucky. I was beautiful before I entered a relationship four years ago. Now I have a missing front tooth and the others are chipped from him repeatedly punching me in the face. it’s hard to get a job looking like this… people assume that you are a drug addict when you have missing teeth.

Mel is lucky that she has her face intact. I'll admit, I wasn't a huge Spice Girls fan when they first came out, but now I hear their songs and feel good that they are who they are.
Someone that has been in an abusive relationship! Very physical I completely understand her. It was horrible and had to call my dad and my little sister and brother to pick me up.

Blessings to you my dear.......us women need so much more than is offered when having been in a domestic abusive relationship.
To many of us are even shamed for having been with someone abusive let alone being supported and loved back to life.
It's terrifying and alot of work on the road back to life once free from such monsters.

I am So happy that someone Finally said that responders to DV situations need to be retrained on how to handle these situations. That it is not always apparent who the "victim" is, and those who are being called for help need to be able to read the situation, sometimes between the lines. My husband's former wife used the current system to control him, to keep him from leaving her. She used their children as weapons, she used the police and department of human services to keep him from seeking help by playing the victim. He was finally able to leave her when his work therapist told him he was in an abusive relationship, and he works in construction so if his work doctor could see the situation it had to be a very bad homelife, and it was.
Mel looks great. Happy for her and her journey. She’s inspiring.

I love that Mel B said that about Princess Kate. Shame on Sarah and Sunny. Their attitude lately turns me off just like I felt when me again was on the show. If they had seemed sincerely sorry and didn’t blame the palace or each other and took ownership of their behaviour in a sincere way like Ana and Alyssa did I could forgive them. But they didn’t. Acted like spoiled kids. So disappointing.
"I was an assistant to a member of an iconic girl group for a national TV show. One day, I was asked to get her an In-N-Out burger, protein style with no pickles, because I heard she absolutely hated pickles. I was told not to get the sauce if there was relish in it. When ordering, I asked that exact question and they said relish was indeed in the sauce. So, I confidently said, 'no sauce then' thinking that was the right move. I handed the food to my boss, who handed it to her security, who eventually gave it to the pop icon, and I went back to my work area. She then stormed into my work area, pointed directly at me and said, 'You! Come here!' She then explained that the food was garbage without the sauce and how hungry she was.
