Which South American Airline do you want me to fly next? Let me know 😅
Avianca. Begining in July 2024 they are supposed to re-start their Business class service within South America. I live in Toronto, and have been thinking of going to Santiago Chile, if it is any good. Their price is half the price of LATAM/Air Canada, so I am a little apprehensive. Thanks Josh. Great videos !
LATAM!
Aerolíneas Argentinas please ✈️🥺
Conviasa
What about a trip to Tierra del Fuego?
La Paz reminds me of Medellín. I can't wait to visit Bolivia.
I flew on an Avro Jet on Air Dolomiti from Munich Germany to Naples Italy in 2006. The tomatoes on the flight from Munich to Naples tasted sweet. I wish store bought tomatoes would taste that good.
Come to Louisville international airport. You can see all the DC-10’s your heart desires!
Josh's video and his voice are so soothing. Anxiously waiting for all his videos.
Man has been in nearly every plane ever. I only been on an A320 and My FAV plane 737❤
Love your flights lately you stepped up your game massivly josh!
Hi Josh. I'm glad to see your latest video flying Ecojet's Avro Bae 146-200 I understand your concern about safety on board a fairly old aircraft but I watched you getting aboard unknown airlines flying the old Boeing 737-200. I am Bolivian and left La Paz in 1969 My first experience was flying an old Curtiss C-46 that was testing its new overhauled engine. So, talk about not being scared. Of course at the time I was only 14 yrs old. I moved to the United States in August of 1969 to study aviation. I worked for Delta Air Lines until retirement in 2014. I continue enjoying all of that free travel worldwide on Delta and other carriers. My most recent trip was in 2019 on Delta to EZE and Aerolineas Argentinas to Santa Cruz and Boliviana BOA to Cochabamba. I also wanted to go to La Paz but run out of time. Watching your videos brings back all of that good memories of rtavel, specially in Fist Class. Thanks for visiting Bolivia. It is a beautiful country. Next time stay longer in La Paz so that you get used to the altitude. Keep up the good job
I flew to Juliaca and out of Cusco this year, it was insane landing at such a high altitude! Such a different feeling and the Smokey air when the hot thin air flooded in was a spectacle. Take off roll out of Cusco was so slow it was crazy
My front yard is at approximately 1860m here in Cheyenne, Wyoming (the 2nd highest state capital in the United States) and for those coming up from lower altitudes Excedrin (or it's generic equivalent) are worth keeping on you.
The Aspirin part thins your blood, the caffine boosts your blood pressure making it flow, while the Acetaminophen and Aspirin take out the headache.
Interestingly, there is an Flight Manual supplement for the BAe 146 to allow it to operate from airfields like those in Bolivia due to the high elevation of the airports reducing the take-off performance.
Great to see you in South America! Keep it up & thanks for everything you do.
95% blood oxygen, that's me on a good day. 😅
Josh thank you for showing a330 neo as airbus has uploaded after you

18:24 - Knees weak, arms are heavy. Mom's spaghetti (due to no airline food service :P).
Thanks for another wonderful review.
I really appreciate your efforts to provide an honest review of airlines. I especially like your willingness to go to the trouble of flying on airlines that may not have the best safety records.✌✌
Interesting, that many years ago I flew on Avro RJ85 by Lufthansa in Europe, so you circle that back :)), letting me watch the video:)
I flew bolivia airlines once and it was dead scary
It's hit or miss for me, but usually they are relatively safe
Not in My case , the last yaer i do the dame flight as Josh with the nos defunct amazonas and the flight is very good
@@armandogerardodeleonchitica yes Amaszonas was the best option in Bolivia
I have flown to La Paz back in 2008 on LAB, Lloyd Aero Boliviano. I believe the airline does not exist anymore. On a Boeing 727. The air in La Paz is crazy thin the first couple of days but what an amazing city. Another great video. Vielen Dank, Josh:)
I flew on a DC-10 when I was a little kid traveling to Bermuda with my parents. I also been on a DC-8 and DC-9. I also been on a 707 and 727. I'm sure none of these planes are flying anymore.
Altitude? My cousin just summited Everest...now that's altitude!
excellent, nearly at 700K man, great achievement
I was thinking I had been to Santa Cruz but it was the one in Tenerife!
0:44: Great shot !
Great video Josh,👏👏👏👏
Beautiful city
LOL gotta love the "mexican" soundtrack.
Your ignorance is astounding
Yep - as a Bolivian, I don’t recognize that tune. It doesn’t fit any Bolivian folk or modern genre
@@StonedUp1 LOL andale andale arriba arriba.
Great clip again, and well done! Love the music in the background.
Oh, when are you going to fly Qatar again? 😂
I like the video very much Josh well done
I noticed at the 5:50 mark the guy behind you was enjoying a tasty snack
Great review, would love to fly on the BAE146...
IL-62 was very stable in the air even during the strong turbulences
at 5.25, why did he censor out the mountain top??
I flew on Amazonian when it was still in business from La Paz to Sucre, and well that was interesting…
Drone shots were great
Once I heard a pilot saying that Bolivia has the best civil pilots worldwide, as they really "learn to fly" in this environment and with these old airplanes. Not like letting the computer do all the work as it is the case in modern planes, especially Airbus. It was an Airbus pilot saying this, and complaining about the lack in real routine they get in the modern planes.
Hardly any accidents in Bolivia, therefore.
You can fly to Venezuela, many vintage airplanes such as the 737-200, A340-200 and MD-80s. You could go back to Europe through Conviasa's flight to Moscow, through the arctic pole, or to Managua in the mulas flight, which is used by Cubans to flee to the US. Definitely not traditional flights...
It's a bit weird that the first add I saw as soon as I clicked on the video Air India add
So when Josh saw the Airbus’ A330neo… why didn’t he mention anything of it lmao.
Ah yes, 1999 was 28 years ago lmao
😢
Hi Josh , Your videos are amazing
By the way, why do you have a lot of Flickr problems with videos?
Please do a flight with the highest layover time in same airlines
Josh, when you know you have to deal with altitudes, drink water preemptively and the whole time you're there. When do you think you'll get to CLE?
The word 'turbulence' is already plural joshie
English is his second language Alexie.
Anybody know what's the name of the song that has been playing in the background??
BAE 146 aka AVRO LOVE THOSE 😜😜
I always watch your videos and enjoyed them a lot....... How ever how old are your videos?......... 4 months? 6 months?......... I like them anyway 🙏
18:45 - its at this point that Josh realises his death will probably happen in an airplane crash, while he sleeps.
I wonder why we don't see so many DC 10s😆
I challenge you to rode a plane from seven (7) continent's just in 5 days.
Say you get accustomed to the altitude and you feel weak etc what happens when you get back to normal altitude?? Do you feel like Superman??
Josh it's called an AV RO jet not an AF RO jet, lol.
I was sitting through the whole video wondering what AFRO was. 😄
Avro RJ-85
@@V4raggare good old Josh made me laugh when he kept calling it an Af ro jet.
Did you need a permission for the drone ?
@joshcahill it is BOLIVIANA DE AVIACION not boliviano
Per ridurre l affanno nel respirare dovuto all altidudine, mi ricordo che acquistavo in farmacia la coramina glucosta. Lieve sollievo, per poi ricominciare poco dopo
👍
La Paz is not the capital of Bolivia 🇧🇴.
True Rio De Janeiro is the capital.
@@JoshCahillSucre is the capital. I just googled it. Correct me if I am wrong.😊
The constitutional capital is the historic city of Sucre, where the Supreme Court is established, but the administrative capital is La Paz, where the executive and legislative branches of government function.
@@JoshCahill Rio is in Beazil Josh.
Dude eating boogers at 6:05. 🤢
Bolivia is a fantastic country… I spent there 3 months during my travel around the world… I would go back anytime…! Sad you only spent a few hours in La Paz… Soo much more to see and do…
Josh you’re the only one who gives true review and is even ready to get banned from airlines appreciate your efforts please keep up.
Well, he has won an international award so, he has no choice but to keep up with it and not slack..😂😅😊
La Paz has over 40km of cable cars traversing through the city, a unique public transport system🙏
There are more like that. Medellín, for instance
Josh, do not worry. Bolivia is famous for old airframes and from my times of living in South America, I remember the many old propeller planes that were used to fly cargo within Bolivia. So, many pilots are trained to fly old planes and operate under sometimes very difficult conditions (meteo, technical, logistics). They often are more experienced in masterin difficult situations than many pilots in other countries who only know planes with latest technology. In Bolivia you will get to your destination and I cannot recall an air accident in that country in recent years. Safe travels.
so glad you had to swap seats a DC10 👍
Now since you mention it yes 😂
I noticed an Aero Sucre departure on the list. If you have ever seen YT videos of their aircraft taking off, you will definitely think hard about booking a flight.
Well Aerosucre is a cargo liner so you can't really book a flight with them.
Good luck booking flights on a cargo airline
Altitude sickness can be addressed with a special tea or candy you can easily get in places like Peru or Bolivia.
Lemon candy works great too
One good thing about cabin pressure is that it pressurizes to a lower altitude than La Paz.
Sorry Josh, I actually developed a headache watching this becuase of the trumpet foreground music. It would have been a fascinating video to watch as usual.
Not to mention the background music is not even Bolivian 😂, in case He was trying to go for so local music to combine with the video
> The audience: “No, señor, don’t play that music is too sexy!”
> Josh: “Oh but i must”
I loooved the music!❤
@@TeunLos you are a sick fk.
Get well soon.
A plane in turbulence is like a grape in the middle of a block of Jell-O. When the Jell-O moves and shakes, the grape does, too - but it can't fall down. Also, planes are made to withstand forces that most passengers won't be able to withstand. ;) Just leave your seatbelt on whenever you sit and you won't get hurt. Might it be uncomfortable? Yes. Will you die? Very unlikely. 🎉
I live in Cuenca, Ecuador. Maybe a trip to Quito and a one hour hop to Cuenca. Both UNESCO Heritage sites. #ANDESECUADOR🇪🇨
My dad flew on a RJ-85 from England to Minneapolis, Mn. He worked for Mesaba Airlines who operated Avro for a few years.
What a powerful plane! I threw bags for Mesaba in Aspen, after checking people in. Passengers sometimes got a little worried when they'd see us de-icing and directing the plane onwards....
What exactly is your problem with a 20yo Plane, mate? 😄
I fly 35-38yo planes for a living and they are perfectly safe.
Safety isn’t a matter of age but more of good/bad maintenance.
Thanks for the video, Josh. The drone footage is stunning!
That check in agent on the first flight didn't trust you. Thought you were a bit dodgy 😀
I'd be interested in the cost of taxis on these trips and how easy was it to pay for them in either local cash or credit card.
Travel to the most difficult airport to land. Take that as a challenge 😊
That DC-10 is so cool! It's been a freighter all it's life, was with FedEx as N314FE. Really nice catch Josh! :)
Really enjoyed the small tour between flights. I k ow this might not be what you would like to do, but it certainly adds context and enjoyment for me.
Great video man. Respect🫡
Hi Josh, you are very honest about what you think about Germans, Russians etc. But what is your impression of Scandinavians, or more precisely Danes? I think even Danes are flat, shy, and then they drink far too much. What is your opinion? Brother Claus
The altitude in La Paz is horrible! As soon as the doors open, the headache starts. I had to play a tennis tournament there years ago, and it was horrible. Altitude sickness is no joke. I also flew BoA (Boliviana, with an A at the end) to Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, and the airline was nothing to write home about.
Not to mention how dry the air is
Tourist issues, took me a week but I got adapted to the altitude and it was a really good time there
I have decided not go to La Paz because 18 years ago I spent 5 days in Johannesburg and being not well (altitude sickness combined with lifelong asthma). La Paz would be the end.
Those AVRO RJ/146 were a little underpowered. There is a story about one flying from Syney to Brisbane during a hot Australian summers day and air-control had cleared the plane to an altitude. Knowing that the conditions were not good the pilot was told to report when at altitude. After some long time air-control reminded the pilot he should have reported in at altitude. Response was hang-on we still have 500 feet to go.
You need to take Mate de Coca, which you can get at airport or many places. It's a infusion of coca leaf in hot water. It's so good for altitude. Works in a few minutes.
And then your mouth will smell like shit...
When I was in La Paz, I suffered badly from altitudes sickness and I drank as much Mate de Coca as I possibly could - it made no difference. I was very glad when we left.
Interesting flight 👍✈️🇷🇺
GREAT VIDEO JOSH 👍👍
Hi Josh, you should try Air Chathams SAAB 340 aircraft in Auckland, New Zealand. They are very old. One of them was built on 1986 and to this day flying and in good condition. I had experienced turbulences across all of my flights hahaha. 17:29
Maybe your worry is really what you are predisposed to think: of airline, country, altitude. So, try Quito.
Josh your smile is infectious - you always look so happy.
Hi Josh
I have watched most of your videos and I love it❤
And I didn't find any about SomonAir, it's Tajikistan's national airline
I would love your honest review about this airline
Thank you for your job
hey.. lot of Indian connections.. Flight - ex Jet airways & Spicejet origins.. Plus airport named Santa Cruz - a suburb in Mumbai, India. [PS: I know Santa Cruz is a common Spanish name !!]
I live in Sint-Kruis - Dutch for Saint Cross aka Santa Cruz 😅
Fly with Bulgaria air again 😮 but… with their A220. Personally I’ve flew with them 2 times and it wasn’t really bad.
i have a dream to fly avrojet. this is a rare plane cause im bored to fly 737 and a320. in my country that planes is the bakbone of an airline
Was your 10/10 rating of the check in agent as unscientific as Jeb’s Jeb score
Ah Josh the BAe 146/Avro RJ is made of sterner stuff...I knew a fairnfew pilots who used to fly them and they loved it. And you will never have a bad landing in the 146/Avro RJ thanks to its main undercarriage design😎
Lovely video Josh!
I would love to see an SAS A350 review at some point! Would love to see what your take is on it :)
You should have rested for a day at your hotel before going out, to get acclimatised with the high altitude in that city.
Love the video Josh! Always an honest review!
What is that Airbus a330 Neo doing there is that a test plane keep up the good work that was a great photo
That A330neo there is indeed a test aircraft. Airbus were using La Paz as a location where they could test the A330neo at a high-altitude airport to evaluate how that environment impacts the type.
Awesome drone shots Josh.
You should come to Guatemala the views of the volcanoes from the plane are breathtaken ❤
Love your vids man❤
On the first flight did anyone else notice the guy behind Josh having a meal from his nose.......
Yes I did 🤮. Dirty pig ! Great video Josh …. As always !
