The thing I appreciate the most about the breakfast scene? It's quiet. There's no monologue telling us what we gathered by seeing it, it just lets the imagery, music and characters' reactions establish the emotion. And I absolutely LOVE IT for that.
This anime is very emotional. Particularly the Canned Bread Breakfast scene. I would put it in the top 3 emotional anime scenes for sure. If I may, I would like to Quote that scene for those of you who have not seen it so you can envision it, though I still highly recommend that you go and see it for yourself, as it truly is a masterpiece.
