Know a few guys at the local Round1 who use some metas like the RX-7 Bathurst R but for the most part it's all non-meta. I personally have a Countach, an RX-3, and an SA22C RX-7 I favor a lot. Best friend uses the GT86, one of the guys with a crown on a few tracks has the Starion... North American players typically don't run the meta cars. We're just happy to even have the game.
As a person who plays wmmt and drive IRL using a stick i sometimes reach out my right hand on the stick even tho its on the left side if im focused on the game
