London to Brighton Commercial Run 2023, has regrettably been cancelled, for the full explanation visit www.hcvs.co.uk/ The next date of the 2024 HCVS London to Brighton Run, will be Sunday 12th May 2024
I remember many of these vehicles from my childhood in England. In fact, I used to own Dinky Toys of some of them. Excellently filmed and great quality. Thanks.
A wonderful trip down memory lane. Greatest admiration for the guys and gals that dedicate their time in preserving these old beauties so that everyone can appreciate them.
Thankyou so much for having the patience to upload this in 4K. The colours in the sun are amazing. The vehicle at approx 26 mins 10 secs and 37 mins 35 secs in was the 1 that had an issue en route & I reconised it. My late father used to work for that agricultural company in Lincolnshire & I remember as a child going with him in this vehicle once on this particular road run. If I remember correctly it was best in class or something similar. Thanks for bringing back such happy memories.
Thank you for watching my video, I'm pleased it brought back some happy memories, I'm always pleased when TH-camrs leave comments good or bad, this makes it all the more worthwhile producing these videos, and uploading then in 4K which unfortunately does take a considerable time, then I have to wait again for TH-cam to process it in 4K, which can take up to 24hrs, at times I have considered lowering the quality to 1080p, to save time on uploading & the processing 4K videos, especially as lots of viewers only watch it on their phones in 720p or 1080p anyway, but I still ruled this out as I video in 4K anyway, and other viewers may watch with their PC monitor or TV screen in 4K. Thanks again for taking time to leave a comment, and I will check out the two times on the video, you mentioned.😀.
I remember now the vehicle you revered to is the little light blue Ford pickup that pulled into the lay-by in front of me at 00:17:32, whatever they did to it must have been minor work as it was soon on its way to Brighton again.
I enjoyed this video a lot, especially the first section with these splendid vehicles on the road. Thank you for posting this program and thanks also to all the owners and drivers on the magnificent cavalcade.
I watched them off from Crystal Palace park that year. A great spectacle. It was a bit unnerving to realise that I could remember seeing most of these models on the road when they were genuinely employed for work...
Thank you for watching, regarding your comments this is something I'll be working on, in maybe in future videos, but this particular video if someone with knowledge of the lorries appearing in this video, could compile a list with their run number included, and I will add this with time code below the description, sorry unfortunately it would take far too long to re-edit this video again and upload again in 4K.
BedFord trucks were very popular in Pathans of Pakisran but it did not get popularity in India ,,, where Chevrolet Dodge Ford and later Mercedes and Layland took over,
Thank you for that heads up, I was planning to video this event again this year, after checking on their website, www.hcvs.co.uk/ it's partly due to the Coronation, and moving the date of the run back, it also clashes with another event at Brighton where they are dismantling on that Sunday, also there is another problem that they are working to resolve London LEZ (soon to become ULEZ). All this information can be found on HVSC website, They also say the next London to Brighton Run will be held on Sunday 12th May 2024.

Brilliant wee film, and the vehicles, everyone of them is immaculate, including the signwriting, some real beauties on display.

It does so good to see them on the road. Thanks a million!
I wish something popped up on screen to tell us what each vehicle is.

7:29 1926 (or so) Sentinal DG8 steam wagon
Thank you for your information, if possible in future events, I hope to include such detail, if time allows during editing video.
Bei 4:00 hat sich ein alter MAN Rundhauber
blicken lassen. Gab's den als Rechtslenker?
Thanks for watching, It is a left-hand drive
I'm amazed at the number of tippers that have survived our heavy handed use.
Yes I was also amazed of the condition of them, they are a credit to the owners, who must have spent large amounts of money restoring them
what make/model is the truck at 1:04? I can't make out the name one the grille
It's a Ford Thames Trader 😀, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thames_Trader

I looked on the website recently and it says this year’s event is cancelled. Does anybody know why?

All beautiful clacics car 🚗
Yes indeed!
Only one Austin j2 van could make it to Brighton
Shame our 🇬🇧politicians let our great lorry industry disappear. Great to see the survivors still going strong and looking so good.
