In this video meet Chris, often known as the Blind Woodturner in the Visually Impaired community.
In this episode, Chris shares his experience and challenges with his sight loss. Chris talks candidly about the initial impact his sight condition had on him and the anxiety he suffered when he lost his vision. Chris talks about the support he availed of and his family support network who helped him through challenging times.
Chris tells his inspirational story of how he became known as ‘The Blind Woodturner’ after starting a TH-cam channel about his passion for woodturning which he learned after losing his vison. After achieving his wood turning accreditation in 2019, Chris has become the first blind person to be awarded the title ‘registered professional turner’
InSights are intimate personal stories of sight loss from individuals sharing their greatest challenges, their greatest fears, their darkest times and how they overcame them and moved forward in their lives.
We hope these stories will resonate and encourage others to move forward on their own sight loss journey, as well as help sighted people to understand more about what visually impaired people experience.

Amazing! I am legally blind and have just about given up my desire to be a woodturning since the wood is so much out of focus and I can't see exactly where my tools touch the wood. I'm think I'm going to start turning again and see what I can do. Thank you for this video, and for sharing. God bless you.
