You can tell this is an extremely early SCP because they didn't immediately black-bag it and amnesticise the whole town from the start. It's amazing what can be accomplished by just talking it out with a sentient SCP ("Hey, maybe don't shoot things"), and even giving it some leeway (the museum idea was a great compromise, and Dr. Khan must have some real pull to get reassigned like that). Still, nice to see a positive story.
When I first read about this SCP, i immediately thought back to an old flash game that existed which had the exact same premise. In the game you played a sentient civil war statue and you shot at the birds before they could poop on you. As the game progressed you unlocked more powerful weapons, including a machine gun and rocket launcher if I recall. I wonder if the game inspired this SCP or vice versa. The game probably can’t be found anywhere though; after flash died in 2020 it’s probably unplayable
Cool, Vermont finally made it on the channel. The Stairwell will always be my favorite one but I always love to see New England SCPs outside of Massachusetts (because thats where practically all of them come from) made into videos and as far as I know the Civil War statue is still all we have in Vermont unless you count that one that teleports all over New England to random zoos.
@@razorwolf2758 It's different doctor, one that has reality anchor properties. He really arranged "date" with SCP-173, putting blonde wig and dress on it, making guards watch, even while they didn't need to, and making Class D serve him and his "date" spaghetti.
And… I could only imagine the Wedding March rings in my head for the wedding SCP-011 attended; the wedding of the great-grandson of the soldier he is depicted with that researcher.

It would also mean that there would be more room in the facilities for the harmful SCP’s.
Im actually surprised they didn't contain this one, like i know they say they did but keeping him in his hometown around the people he's become fond of is a way better way than just putting them in a cell sn doing experiments
One of the most awkward of endings I've seen yet on this channel lol, must be a different universe where the foundation is pretty chill and isn't gun'ho for a change. But I guess its cool the foundation has another safe/ally scp because with how much danger they get into they need it.
Earlier SCP entries tended to skim more on the bizarre nature of the entities rather than how lethal they were, as such there was no reason for the Foundation to respond in such a hostile manner. It's why I prefer them over later entries.
This was back in the days when the SCP foundation were reasonable and genuinely wanted what was best for the world, and still listened to the Ethics Committee lmao
@scpexplained i love how you made this based off a few towns from my home town, the statue and scenery plus the buildings, although its not really rural, just a rustic small town like hallmarks kind.

This is so wholesome. Not all SCPs need to be contained. Sometimes, they're better off being left alone. Though some of the most wholesome ones like SCP 999 need to be properly kept safe as it's still just a baby and has an important purpose to fulfill.
One of the friendliest and cult SCPs about, from what the video describes. Glad the Foundation was able to handle the situation real smoothly - unlike with 'the hitch hiker', who the project manager managed to bring down from Euclid to 'neutralized' for a time, until it became a lot worse and is now one of the most tragic Keters.
Honestly the SCP Foundation needs more stories like this. Silly stories where the SCP is mostly harmless or even friendly. I'll take a thousand orange slimes that make you happy or candy bowls that ask you to only take 2 pieces over a second unkillable lizard hellbent on killing all life just because.

Wow. Rarely does an SCP love story end on a good note. Especially only between a human and non-human anomaly.
I know, right? Bro and the researcher really got the good ending. It’s cool to see it now and then.
Yes this SCP is harmless (just keep him clean)
ESPACIALLY with scp foundation staff, we never know and if we do, we never speak of the choices of the O5 council, who somehow decided this was ok.
yup
Tell me about it. When it comes to even half of the Scp's the Foundation has documented. Theirs always some horrible catch to them.
