Good call to get the standard height seat. To lower your bike some get a Slavens racing stink bug shim to install in the shock. Their 6mm shim will lower the rear of your bike 3/4" Then raise your forks to the 3rd line. They will make you a 3mm shim if you want 3/8" lower. I notice your rear tire has a tall profile. You can also install D606 tires. If you install the D120/90 rear tire it will lower the rear of the bike another 1/2" due to its shorter sidewall. Use 4mm tubes to avoid pinch flats and set the air pressure at 13psi front and 12psi rear. The tires will grip off road very well with very good predictable charature and you can run the same pressure on the road. If you want more lower use a Pirelli MT21 110/18 rear tire this tire has a shorter sidewall than the Dunlop.
this is all really good information, thank you!! I will have to try some of these because i would like just a bit more purchase to the ground with my feet.
BTW, this is one of the best all-around videos out there on the subject. You’ve explained things very well giving folks a good orientation on performance. Happy Trails my friend.
Great video. I also have a 350 Ktm with a Vortex, reeds removed, and a FMF Q4 muffler and you are 100 percent correct regarding the improvements in performance. What do you think of map 2 (enduro/trail mode) ?
the enduro map is okay... its a little less snappy with the on/off throttle transition, but still a bit herky jerky. Power is smooth and linear in map 2.
