    Hi Everyone Rogue Here (the guy in red lol), just wanted to address what i said about layover in the video, as i said in the video I wasn’t insane about the EP but i didn’t think it was bad its just my taste in music is much different to others and i was saying i much preferred suga and Jungkooks solo music as that was more catered towardsmy taste in music, i was not telling mcd to not listen to layover by any means i was just telling the audience where i stood on his solo music in regards to my taste, i did like Rainy Days off the project but the rest of it was not made for me, although this was from 1 listen to it when it first released so i feel i should revisit it again with an open mind

    Layover's vibe is different bec it was a mix of jazz, lo-fi and R&B, while FRI(END)S is pop-influenced.
    Tae is versatile & he had different goals for both.

      I was expecting V's solo work to be more like his previous work and am not familiar with any jazz or r&b so my initial reaction to the EP was more like this reactor but I kept listening and let it simmer and now I absolutely love it. V himself said it took him a but to warm up to jazz. Maybe it is like stinky cheese and green olives. You need a minute to adjust but once you are hooked you are hooked for life.

      Usually reactors wait 24 hours so as not to draw viewers away from watching several times on their own. This is important for charting, for TH-cam to gather a count, and out of courtesy toward the artist who has put a great deal of effort into creation for our entertainment. I ran across you by algorithm.

    Baritone singers tend to sing slower songs cuz that's where their voice is specialized in . While tenors like Jk sing poppy songs . I think that's what makes the BTS vocal line special non of them sound like the other and all add different flavors to the group 😊

      Layover was Best Debut Album. There was another #1 award but I don't remember what. My two favorite musical artists (don't get that mixed up with biases) are V and Suga (
      Agust D). Agust D is a musical genius who writes melodies and some lyrics, and produces many of BTS's songs. He's very vulnerable on stage. V loves r&b and jazz and is continuously listening to new pieces. That's very much my style, having grown up with my dad's music from around WW2.

    Layover has been nominated for best album in a lot of countries and has won. R&B and Jazz are definitely a perfect mix for music lovers, and the instruments were amazing. Btw, one song of V’s album was in English and the other songs were mixing the two languages, having all the choruses in English too. You liked AgustD and he barely includes English in his lyrics, so I guess the guy in red just doesn’t like R&B

    Respectfully addressing the chap in the red sweater. Begging your pardon but this reaction left much to be desired.
    Why the need to compare Taehyung , who is known for his unique vocal tone, to an American artist. The gifted Charlie Puth is a tenor while Taehyung is a baritone with a wide vocal range and both are gifted singers in their own right with neither sounding like the other.
    Although all of the members’s solos were truly outstanding, in my humble opinion Taehyung’s was the only solo that actually pushed the envelope and broke away in an entirely different direction from the expected standard commercial pop sound. He put out an artistic album thus managing to establish a clear vocal identity outside of his group and certain memeber’s more commercially focused songs. This in no way detracts from the other members works but it was important for him to set himself apart during their solo era and present his own strong vocal presence and he brilliantly did so with the cohesive no skip Layover.
    You are most certainly entitled to your opinion. No one can or will fault you for that. You have made it abundantly clear that you are not a fan of the R&B and jazz genre but bear in mind that you will come across his fans and it would do you well to be more mindful of how you choose to discuss a person’s artistry.
    I wish you success in your YT reacting career.

      i just stated that the tone he hit on the hook reminded me of Charlie Puth NOT that they have the same voice, i think tae had some interesting sounds on his project i was just saying that other than rainy days the project wasnt something i consistently bump as it is far from my taste in music

    • @secretyidentity2833
      @secretyidentity2833 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Respectfully, you are completely delusional. RM’s entire album is less “standard commercial pop” than all the songs V had in his solo work (maybe “For Us” is the only exception bc the structure of that song is insane in a wonderful way). I agree that comparing them is pointless, they are all unique, each of them has very different musical tastes and aspirations, none of them is better or worse for it, it’s just a matter of preference. V’s album is much more jazz, blues driven, “Friends” is much more “standard commercial pop” specially since it’s in English.
      Like I’m sorry, but saying “taehyung’s was the only solo to push the envelope and break away in an entirely different direction from the ‘standard commercial pop sound’” is absolutely insane and just means you prob never even listened to all the member’s solo work…
      Bc even IF you want to argue some songs from the other member’s solo albums were more commercially friendly (and that’s a big IF), there’s no argument to be had abt songs like Change pt.2, forg_tful, Yun, Huh, Polar Night, Snooze, Alone, Stop, What If, and many others.
      Which isn’t really surprising by the way that you speak you really just seem to be a solo stan upset that JK wanted to make English pop album and had massive success from it and is using HIS sound as a blanket description of all the other member’s solo work in order to make V “stand out” as so much more authentic/less mainstream driven, which is absolute bullshit.

    I don't understand why Americans always feel the need to compare Asian artists to American artists. The world doesn't revolve around America only. I actually think artists in other countries have more talents, and the artists here have it easy. They will succeed with any mediocre song and are not as multi-talented.

      Because humans are wired to relate to new experiences by connecting them to already known ones. That's just how biology works. Nothing wrong with that. From what I have heard from other reactionaries is that mentioning well-known and recognized Western artists is a way of locating, not only for them but also for their followers, who do not always know BTS or other groups, the style and sound. It is not a bad thing but it allows many to realize that they can find.
      I once saw a metalhead showing singers of this genre, who might not be known to us but within the followers of this genre they are and they are considered the best; their idea was to show that guys have very good use of vocal techniques that allow them to make treble and high notes with power without damaging their vocal cords or throat.

    It seemed like England to them, because yes, it was recorded there. His EP Layover was well received in that country.
    Your comment about V's album is respected, because not everyone is attracted to the R&B genre although the album is a wonder, although I supported all the solo works and I hope Jin's album by the end of this year, I think V's surpassed everyone artistically, because really his interest is not only thinking about the charts and records but that ARMY and the general public like it.
    V is a very complete artist. I have a baritone voice with a unique tone, which by nature is deep but also manages to sound light, raspy, airy, high-pitched, and reaches very high notes even for some tenors. His technique is very good.
    He is also a musician, before joining his company as a trainee he already played the saxophone and has learned other instruments such as piano, violin, trumpet, guitar..., so a good instrumental is basic is their works.
    In addition to this, he is a good dancer, lyricist, composer and producer; he is the only one of the group who has made his acting debut; he is also very creative and with unusual ideas, but they always have a meaning that is important to him.
    Don't know if you watched V's Tiny Desk, I really recommend it and I'd love to see that reaction on MCD of WCR too.
    By the way there is a live vocal performance by Fri(end)s on the W Korea channel.

    Dude like literally every other comment, why you gotta toss in phrases like you not being a fan of a genre makes this a step up from his other music? It's giving connotations of quality rather than entirely your personal preference, without adding in anything about the sort of music he makes. Just that it's not as good.
    Which btw is TOTALLY FINE when you're reacting on your own, but i know if you were a close friend of mine and you tossed out opinions like that introducing me to an artist, I'd have been influenced not to check them out on my own, thinking all their music is like this one video but just less good, and I'd have missed out on an album i listen to regularly.
