Your presentation is the best presentation on Nietzche to me. Though there is not dearth of good analysis on Nietzche; however, problem is that that analysis are unable to present Nietzche highly complicated philosophies and works on layman level or for those who don't have background in philology or classics. But, your presentation is just superb and I cannot think that Birth Of Tragedy can be presented in such a simple and straightforward way. Please carry on making more videos on Nietzche other works and on similar topics.

Socrates did not believe himself to be the wisest man in the world after being told this by the Oracle. He claims often that he knows very little/nothing at all. After searching for the wisest person, he realizes that others claim to have knowledge and wisdom and yet when questioned they cannot rationally explain their supposed knowledge. It is because Socrates recognizes his ignorance and lack of knowledge that makes him the wisest person.

Yes and at least in the apology he does not go to the oracle but rather it is friends who go and report to him that the oracle said "no man is wiser that Socrates". Which results in his quest to prove the oracle right or wrong.

the lesson from all these tragedies is to party less; these stories wouldn't be so sad if everyone wasn't so faded

very good. when i read sophocles colonnus i can see there's something very different starting to happen, he looks back at his life with an ordered mind. its not exactly a tragedy.

Thats peak when; Plato uses dialogue, a dynasian way to describe the rationalism.. same reason i hate rationalusm, people, science, human need art. Only through art they could survive. Its not just an entertainment as everyone thinks, its a necessary thing that remind human certain things.
