Thanks Jesse & Jonathan this was a great conversation... I've just been intending to extreme ownership and a lot of these points hit at things that I've taken from there. Great insights from you both. I need to go buy a load of books now...
Great talk! Here are the books mentioned (in no particular order): The Lean Startup: How Constant Innovation Creates Radically Successful Businesses by Eric Ries The Personal MBA: A World-Class Business Education in a Single Volume by Josh Kaufman Hacking Growth: How Today's Fastest-Growing Companies Drive Breakout Success by Sean Ellis He also mentions Copy-writing as a required skill. He took a course from kopywritingkourse where he bought a book ( I don't know which). Plenty resources on that site. Thanks for putting this together Jesse and thanks Jonathan. Lots to learn and think about!
Conversion has, for a while now, belonged the 101 topics of modern UI/UX. Actually, most of the designers now got into the topic through conversion and not through user experience or research. It's a wee bit far-fetched to claim that it was an epiphany, unless you came from a Graphic Design background. Last time I met a UI/UX not knowing about conversion things, was probably back in 2010 or so... Strategic topics are however still lacking greatly in design education, at least to be able to understand what role designers play in the grand scheme of things.
4 years later, still referencing this, still underrated. Thank you man
