I bought a Gibralter double pedal brand new in 1989 for $330, its been bullet proof i lube it from time to time and i've had to chain the springs twice. Awesome pedals, i'm still getting my moneys worth from them. Glad you'll be back at the kit Wyatt..
Gibraltar is the most underrated brand when it comes to pedals, their stuff is top notch. I have their 6700 double pedal which is pretty much their equivalent to the older Pearl eliminator (pre redline version) and it is magnificent. I also have their 9800 stealth single pedal which I won from a giveaway at PASIC 2016, wish that came in a direct drive version because I’d get that as a double pedal.
Those seem like quality parts. Really similar to my DW snare stand. DW5000 pedal is still one of the bests pedals. I've had mine for almost 15 years with no issues.
About to break in my new Tick Low Mass for some speedy stuff, but have been privileged enough to pick up the speed cobra, DW 5000 single chain, and Pearl Demon Chains over the last few years. All sick pedals for different applications. My favorite multipurpose overall is the speed cobra for sure.
Worked in a music store when Gibraltar first unveiled this pedal construction, and I gotta tell ya, I think these are gonna be a pain in the ass over time. We saw many returns due to mechanical failure on these units. Perhaps my information is out of date and they’ve fixed these issues, and I hope that’s the case.
@@soymilk9826 I believe that it is only stiff before it is attached to the driveshaft or a beater. I felt the same thing when putting together my direct drive pedals
Love this pedal. I own the single and double version. Two things you’ll need to do: replace the cross brace. Spend $100 and get a MUCH better one with much better u joints. Second, get better beaters. I went with hard felt. The felt peels off the red plastic beaters. Booo! Crank system rocks! Springs will break. Mine last 3 years. Still, Gibraltar snare stands, hi hats and kick pedals are STILL the best for the money.
What a coincidence! I was checking out your previous videos on Speed Cobra, and the Trick pedals awhile ago, I refreshed my TH-cam page, and voila, here you have another double pedal video!
Wyatt, I am looking at getting the Speed Cobra 910 or the Gibriltar direct drive pedal...since you play on both pedals, which one do you think is better? Thank you for your time...DrummerD from MI
I actually ordered my first pair of double kicks and theyre direct drive (pdp concept series) and I'm super curious to see what they feel like (they're actually my first brand new pair cuz all the other ones were used or given to me secondhand). Super excited to get used to the speed oriented pedals
I love metal, but never got double kick pedals (kinda makes me feel phony haha). Currently I play a Pearl P-900 chain single kick. When you've played only on chain driven pedals, what do you recommend getting for an introduction to double kick? Is it right to stay with the same make, for the same feel? I want to get a pedal that I will be comfortable with, and would be confident spending a good amount of money on.
It’s usually a good way to go about it but here’s my most recent experience... I’ve been playing the demon drives for about 2 years, and before that was the older version of the iron cobras. Well about 2 weeks ago, I decided I wanted a pair of ic’s again just to play with whenever I wanted a break from the demons and with all the new features, the new ic’s are way lighter than they used to be... at least to me. The main answer you’ll get is... “go to a store and see for yourself so you can get what fits you.” A lot of people don’t have that luxury. All that being said, almost any top pedals your mind and body will get used to over time. I hated the demons for probably 4-6 months but knew I wasn’t going to be shelling out cash for new pedals so I stuck with it, and it finally clicked. Good luck!
@@ncham1848 I am definitely hesitant to buy pedals, unless I can try them out, or even straying away from chain that I'm use to. But really true that what you do over time you will get use to. Just like how I got use to my single pedal, by playing only it for years. Thanks man!
@@RevolutionDrummer47 I've gotten great mileage from my Gibraltar 6700 double pedal. It has a chain drive and feels similar to pedals like the Pearl Eliminator but I prefer the smoother footboard it has compared to the Pearl pedals.
That’s funny, I bought the Bigfoot pedal from Trick too, I got the black widow edition. And same as you, for $1000, my one complaint as soon as opening the box, is that it didn’t have a case.
5 minutes into the video and I've only seen the boxes so far.. also, why do the pedals come so dirty out of the package, they look like second hand or smth. also, why is the slave side so tough, is it the ball bearing failure or what? man, as a long time happy gibraltar 96 double pedal owner and user I just have to ask this question: gibraltar, what the hell?
I have the chain version of this one but honestly I don’t like the board size.. it’s a good pedal but not for me unfortunately! Great review btw! Cheers
Gibraltar had the first line of therefore first doube pedals with direct drive I had the intruder direct drive in 2004 05 in studio band in Springfield Missouri I had never played that speed before with direct drive I seen the pedal and it was blackd out version of newest models it worked better for metal. It's direct drive insanity in metal drumming going crazy now I used the earliest model. Gibraltar was first before all others unless you count Ludwig speed king I played 2 them on one m y earliest kits that rocked. I thought I'd educate ppl on Gibraltar started the direct drive pedal craze now everywhere in drumland.
i have used these, as two singels (with double chain thoug) they er ok, but nothing speciel, but the springs are shit, the hook breaks easily, you have to change them to better ones form pearl or somthing, and be careful when you change them, they are a pain to change, and if not done correct the spring vil loosen it self vile playing, like my mapex falcon and my cobras better ;-) but certainly a matter of taste
Catergorically the worst pedal Gibraltar has ever realeased. The G-Class pedals have been the worst selling pedals Gibraltar have ever sold.....Apparently Gibraltar will be having a replacment model later in 2021... Let‘s hope so as the old Gibraltar 9611 Pedals were amazing !! Thanks for the upload....

NEW ARCHITECT'S TRACK!! BLACK LUNG'S
I just ordered this pedal.Looking foward to the follow up video.
Whatever happend with this pedal? im thinking the super tight slave pedal was possibly a defect?
Real bummer i was hoping to get a review on this, a year later nothing
Czarcie Koptyo or however you say it are normal spring pedals I believe. The only other compression spring pedal I can think of is the SpeedKing
I seen Dixon pedals with compression spring I think .
I could be wrong but it's the new direct drive Dixon models.
Confirmed; my CK's have regular extension springs

I’m thinking of buying a Gibraltar. Would you recommended the 6700 series or the g stealth?
I cant find a video of your verdict
what was up with the pedal?
Did you ever review these?
What’s the verdict???
Actually the Czarcie Kopyto uses a regular expansion spring, it’s just kinda hidden on the pedal

hey! did you ever do the second follow-up video? REally curious about this pedal.
Nevermind, I got it and it sucks. Slave pedal squeaks like a mofo. RETURN RETURN RETURN REURN RURN RUN!!!!

Did you see how the slave was so stiff? What's up with that?

Wondering here 2 months after. Was the pedal that bad since no follow up review? Or have i missed it?
I bought them because of this video. They SUCK! Just buy speed cobras or a space pedal :)
Wondering the same thing

Dude I’m literally thinking about getting these!
New Architects out now, get it boiiiii
Wyatt do you prefer chain drive strap drive or direct drive
Did you ever do that review? Because I can't find it.
Good luck with that slave pedal ! They should've checked the pedal now you get to disassembled it before even using it good qc Gibraltar!
You inspire me every single day.
When you going to try the Tama dynasync?
I've been trying to buy the trick drum bigfoot pedal for months now, but it hasn't been in stock anywhere

Can it be used for left handed drummers?
Hello
cool that you try those kind of pedals.
I always wanted to know if they worth their price and i wonder why those are kind of underrated.
The Speed Cobra 910 is great! I use the single pedal version currently
im wanting to buy it but i dont have alot of money and you said it wouldnt even move hardly? Is this true?

Song name at 6:14 ?
Pretty sure it’s one that he just wrote for the purpose of having non copyright music for the channel, but someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
Largar um Speed cobra, pra passar a usar um Gibraltar... Não sei se é uma boa escolha...

Well damn mine didn’t come with a case 🤨 wtf.
Anyone else before he uploads a drum cover of “acting like that”?
Architects just released another song for their upcoming album. You should do a reaction to it, it’s a banger!🤘🏼
Gibraltar makes awesome hardware, but their pedals feel kind of cheap to me. Their stands, clamps, and racks are rock solid.
When country with one of the most defecult languaches makes oneof the Best double pedals

Not a bad looking kick pedal. Even for under $500.
It is a very very light pedal be careful with the pedal board the bolt will hit the direct cam just to let you know
Play on these mugs with a review vid Plz!!!
