- I've had requests for an HD version of this one, and given that the original that I posted is both my oldest and most viewed video, I thought it was a good idea, so here it is! HD video as well as audio. I hope you enjoy it!
Would you like to hear more from FF9? Let me know in the comments!

I own no rights to any of the material. The artwork was done by Vicky Bawangun, and the amazing original score was written by the man, the myth, the legend: Nobuo Uematsu. Thanks to Square Enix for the wonderful game and all of the memories the team has created for so many people.

I used to stay at home during summer the whole day just to dive into this beautiful world ... back then there was no social media and I used to dream at night about how events will unfold ... best times of my life.
Oh man. The kids of today have no idea how beautiful the world was with blocky graphics, better stories and characters, no social media... Simple and wonderful.
Same bro
@nerdsounds Agree and also no micro transactions, no politics in games
And now it's time to become big sad while listening to old FF music. :D
Yep. Better times tbh.
“World only have two things. Things you can eat and things you no can eat.”🥰 - Quina
Haha I basically feel that way about the world as well.
Reminds me of Master Oogway: “Noodles, no noodles”
@@twist22 "Aiya! What big stone! Why you all watch stone? Is stone edible? Or is for barbecue? No answer...I think I lick it."
Ain’t that the truth… 😢
Quina is my favorite character in FF9.
"Good food not only delicious! Good food made with heart! This is very important when cooking for friends!" TRUTH.
This just made my mediocre day a whole lot better… 😍
Thanks, man! That's the goal!
Ohhhhh no way. This nostalgia. My first love. The very first Finsl Fantasy and the very first RPG I ever played. When I finished it I never felt more empty. And so I never stopped hunting for more. ❤🎉😅😊😂
Thanks for listening! Nostalgia is what I aim for on this channel. It's SUCH a powerful drug lol I think you might like the new piece I uploaded today...
FF9 is my first game on the PS1 and will be my all time favorite. Thank you for making such wonderful music and bringing me back to memory lane.
Wow, that’s a hell of a first PS1 game. I can’t remember mine exactly but 8 was my first FF (thank you Pizza Hut demo disc).
After that I quickly got 7 and 9 and the guide books for all 3 games. The open world track for 9 is just so relaxing and great to listen to. Nobuo Uematsu really hit the nail on the head with the FF music. Each one feels unique and I can’t image any of them without his music
Yup me too. Got the game and the console same day for Xmas
@@eeebee6166 it was supposed to be FF7 but it was sold out but the store clerk said FF8 or FF9 was available and i ended up on FF9 cause chibi chars i was 10 at the time it chose it for the the cartoonish graphics and it was the best decision i made.
@HeyItsMeXyn You're welcome! My goal with each piece is to take people back to fond childhood memories. Thanks for listening!
@eeebee6166 8 was also the first one I played. My older brother had played 7 with his friend, and I watched a bit of it, and thought it was weird that 8 had different characters, but boy did I fall in love with that game QUICK.
I love this version!!!! Excellent instrumentation. Although it sounds like there's a harp VST here so I am obviously quite biased
Hey, thanks! There is a harp VST, you are correct. But hey, I'm listening to your version of You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet right now, and I LOVE it. Subscribed.
@@nerdsounds ahh thanks, I'm flattered! Yeah you may have gathered I am also a FF nut....😍
Thank you for doing these, they genuinely make my day. Also, FFXIV's pre-order stuff is all FF9 themed...soooo teasing a remake maybe.
Oh NOICE! Firstly, I’m very glad these make your day. And secondly, I know they’re busy with a VII remake, but I hope they realize through this process how much people would like remakes of some other games. VIII, IX, X, Tactics, and others.
@@nerdsounds Besides FFIX, I'd like there to be one for Tactics. I feel like it's LONG OVERDUE for THAT one. . .
@@arkavalon5347 Seriously. It’s so good. Super underrated.
Nostalgia banget mendengarkan musik ini... Ini game finalfantasy pertama kali sy mainkan dan terfavorit diatara final fantasy yg lain.. Dulu.. Sy sgt kecewa bgt ketiga game ini tamat.. Sy tidak rela game ini tamat secepat ini...... Ingin sekali rasanya sy masuk didalam game ini... Suasana pedesaannya sgt indah.. Apa lagi ketika di Dali... Desa terindah❤❤❤😂😂😂
This is so nice and soothing! FFIX will always be my favorite! 😊

Right? Great memories. Thank you for listening.
Nice art!
Thanks! Check the description for the art credits!
I wasn't sure when I started listening to this if it hits the spot. After 3 minutes, I'm thinking: Yes, yes it does.
I would leave a larger, more constructive comment, but I just put my hand into a box of knives and have a plaster on my right index finger. Don't put your hand into an unorganised box of knives. (yes, this is true and no it's not bad)
But I'm now subbed, so maybe I can leave another comment next time!
Oh no! I hope your hand is okay! I will keep my hand far away from unorganized boxes of knives. Thanks for subbing! Glad you liked the arrangement!
@@nerdsounds It's 100% okay! And I still need to make the box safe! 🤣
I just found the situation hilarious and what was even more amusing is that I managed to stab myself in the thumb on the same hand hours later with a sim-card ejector tool (blunt pin), so for a few hours I had big plasters on both fingers... (which made it even harder to type). Anyway, thanks again and please look after your hands! :D:D:D:D
Is that Stilzkin in the picture?
It sure is!
Ugh… it’s soo gooooood! 😫
Thank you. It was mostly Nobuo Uematsu. ;)
I miss the world maps, pre-rendered backgrounds and turn based combat. Square Enix needs to have a department that just makes FF in that old skool format
💯 I’ve always wanted to see them do a game in the old style, but with updated graphics. I guess FANTASIAN was kinda like that, but there was no world map one could run around or fly an airship or ride a chocobo around on. And it wasn’t FF, so it didn’t have the classic monsters, summons, items, spells, etc.
Excellent video buddy!
Thank you, Wandering Songs! You guys rock!
Ach wspomnienia ❤😎👍🍻
Tak, wspomnienia z tych gier są niezapomniane. Dzięki za oglądanie!

Haha! I knew I'd make a big typo on a thumbnail at some point. Thanks for pointing that out! I'll have to fix soon when I have the time.
Excelente trabajo, espero que, si algun dia puedas hacer la de la Aldea Dali. Aqui te dejo mi sub y mi like. :3
Thank you! I started the Dali music a while ago, but I love it so much that I’ve been taking a long time on it to do it well. It’s one of my very favorite tracks from the whole FF series.
"You don't need a reason to help people."
That quote! Those character quotes really take me back.
Unfortunately, I can't listen to this song. When I do, I start to cry and become terribly melancholic while I think about life and the past...
Life is truly a bittersweet dream
I know how that is. So much nostalgia from better days in my childhood, and on top of that, this game is tied pretty strongly to someone in my past who is gone, so that just adds to the emotional heaviness I feel when listening to this music. Thanks for stopping by.
Experiencing just that is the gift of life itself. You're lucky. Dead ones don't feel or know. That's what this game is about. Life.
@@RobinKron But is not feeling or knowing anything so much worse? What is the meaning of all this? Are we only living to die at the end?
@@Gentledudy Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

I LOVE FFIX SO MUCH!! THIS GAME GOT ME THROUGH ONE OF THE DARKEST TIMES OF MY LIFE!! THANK YOU FINAL FANTASY! THANK YOU!!
I wrote this arrangement during possibly the darkest time of my life, and it really helped me get through. Thank you for listening.
@@nerdsounds THANK YOU for MAKING THIS!!

I'm a Japanese FFIX player. I feel nostalgia about Zidane and his friend's adventure.
ありがとうございました!
Beautiful! What an experience it was to play this game back then as a teenager.
I know. I feel sorry for today’s generation. They just don’t know what they’re missing. 🤷🏼♂️ Thanks for listening!
I'm probably one of the rare gen Zs who played and enjoyed final fantasy 9 among multiple other final fantasies.
Those were the days, luckily me and my best friend knew that we were going thru a special phase in life as teenagers enjoying all these games together. We cherished every moment of them. 20 years later we both still play and enjoy these songs and reminiscence the innocent good old days.
@@Alexander12276 I'm also one of those as it's my first and favorite FF. One of the rare times I played and cried while playing a video games too. Whether it's VIVI's or Zidane's portion, they hit me HARD!! T_T
Others are engrossed over FF7, and stanning FF8, including the classmate who sold me my FF9 copy since he didn't like it, and preferred FF8's graphics. XD
@@arkavalon5347 wait people stan ff8??? I mean I have the game on my ps3 but I've never really played it. I figured if there was any final fantasy prople would stan it'd be ff6
Imagine travelling the world with stiltzkin with this theme playing... it's so peaceful
Love it. :)
I solely listen to FFIX music while working. I would love for you to upload all the different songs in their hour formats. I need about 4 hours per day! I am currently just sitting at home with a tear in my eye listening to this. This game means more than words can express...
I have a few other FFIX songs I'm working on! Thank you for listening! And great taste in work music. ;)

@@arkavalon5347 haha thanks for subscribing! I’m curious what you’ll think of my Dali arrangement, as well as yesterdays’s Freya’s Theme arrangement!
@@nerdsounds DALI Arrangement is nice. Such a peaceful track and relaxing. Crossing those hills is perfect background music for studying. Freya's was epic, melancholic (for me), and a bit sad (based on the story). Really good!! Thanks, sir Warren!!
@@arkavalon5347 Thanks for the response! Oh, and I did the Hilde Garde, but no obligation to listen to it. I’m almost to where I gotta make a compilation of my FF9 arrangements.
I miss this game, getting old now 😅.

It's never too late to return to enjoy this fantastic game 😊
We've been getting old since the days we were born my friend. Embrace it ❤
i was 9

i had no clue what i done but had so much fun.
The animations back than where incredible for an 9 year old
Right? It looked so good at the time!
Those beautiful memories and such an amazing game! I frequently listen to a few FF IX OSTs (until now) when I'm working and need some inspiration, and this one is my fave! Thank you for reuploading the HD version. Love from Indonesia 🥰
Thank you for listening! I'm currently working on an arrangement of Dali from FFIX as well! Not sure when I'll finish it, but I think it will be good. :)
I'm crying. Such beautiful memories.😢
I mean, I'm sorry you're crying, but if you're anything like me, it's such a great feeling to let it out. I'm glad I could help bring back some memories. That was the goal for myself as well. Thanks for listening!
Someone could make it beautifuller. but Usually they dont
Me too. . . T_T
I played through this game 4 times without every fighting necron or seeing the ending starting at age 8 to 16. I didn't have anything but dial up and no smart phone, so I never saw the ending until I finally finished it. When I finally beat it, I felt really empty. Fast forward 15 years and I'm now on disc 3 playing through it with my son and it's a whole new experience.
Feeling like I could turn into a fluffy moogle😊
Haha love that
Thanks for re uploading again in HD version !! ;D
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
This is a really beautiful rendition that captures the gentleness and nostalgia of the game. :') Thanks for mixing. Couldn't find this on your Spotify page. Would love to see it on there to play it on the go.
Glad you enjoyed it! And I don't have a Spotify page (as far as I know lol) but I'm considering making one!
If Nostalgia got distilled in a musical piece this is what it would sound like... thank you Nobuo Uematsu, Hironobu Sakaguchi and all other devs at Squaresoft for giving us such masterpieces the og trilogy of Final Fantasy on the PSX was THE best. Minimal graphics=full wholesome timeless masterpieces.
I totally agree. The orignal 7, 8, and 9 on PSX were the greatest games in the series, though I would also throw Tactics right up close to those.
@@nerdsounds AMEN!! Kids these days can't appreciate good story, and almost always go after those with HD graphics instead. And Tactics is long overdue for a remake!!
Love this!
Thank you
It truly was a different time. I feel sorry for the younger generation missing out on this. Thanks for listening.

I dont know why they dont rmk this game this is real Final Fantasy all system so fk Fantasy ,Theme, Sound
I love this game so much ❤
Yeah totally! This game is like, a hearkening back to the original games with the fantasy themes, sounds, like you said, and the crystal. They really need to.
Since you decided to enter into Terra and got out of it, this music will disappear from the world map forever because of mist from Ilfa tree covering around the world.
Yeah, that's always a bit of a downer...
There are far too many tunes I like that you play 🙏oh wow

Why do people care so much after all these years for this game? Could it be it's far better than 13, 14, 15, 16, and FF7R?
Well the masses like 14 and FF7R but they don't even know the series.
I think you're absolutely right. This game, the music, story, characters, and the world they created, stands the test of time, regardless of dated graphics.
What a wonderful music ! good job !

do you have plans to make one for village of dali too? or fisherman's horizon from ff8. im always looking for extended ver of these tracks since theyre such good bgm so i was just wondering!
I do plan on both of those! I've already started Dali, and hope to start Fisherman's Horizon soon!
I've only played 1,2,8,9,10 and 13 but for me this is the best FF ever. I wish they could remake this instead of constantly appealing to FF7 cultists.
Haha You gotta play the original FF7! it's one of the best. There's a reason it's so popular. But I would kill for an FF9 remake! Such an amazing game. And 8, for that matter. Also, 12 is one of my favorites, as well as Tactics (which takes place in the same universe as 12, so you may consider checking those out.) Anyway, thanks for listening!
Boring and bland. "Orchestrated" lmao
Huh. I mean, it WAS orchestrated... There were strings doing arco as well as pizzicato, woodwinds, piano, harp, wind chimes, and more. I tried to keep the same basic feeling as the original, which is relaxing. So, I'm not really sure what you were expecting, but perhaps you listened to it on a bad sound system and weren't in the right mood/mindset for what this arrangement was offering. I just don't think this is the right song for some epic, exciting, upbeat arrangement. But thanks for stopping by anyway.
@@nerdsounds I don’t mean any disrespect but this isn’t orchestration. You have no idea what you’re doing.
I’ll prove it: what’s your instrumentation? For me, I typically go with 3333.6331.timp.perc.2harps.2keys.strings.
Also I said it was boring and bland as in there’s nothing clever in this, there’s nothing that stimulates the mind. You loaded up some “orchestra-y” patches and copy-pasted some MIDI data. There’s no thoughtful curation, no taste in combinations, no idiomatic writing for any of the instruments… you just slapped some stuff into your DAW and you called it “orchestration.” Yeugh.
I just listened again and do you really think string players can do those jumping around pizzicato notes during the flute and oboe soli?
Hey, listen, you can just back off! Just because you think you’re some amazing orchestrator, maybe even a great composer, doesn’t mean you can walk in here and be a jerk. There are better ways to show your superior intellect than dismissing other people’s work. This isn’t a contest, and the arranger didn’t ask for your expert, professional opinion, so take your rude comments and your piss poor attitude and get lost!
@@thegoodgeneraland yes, as a professional string player, I can tell you definitively that those string players CAN play those pizzicati that fast. And faster still. Keep learning there, friendo.
