Precision Landing a Drone on an Aruco Array

Precision landing a drone via openCV and a camera on a single aruco marker can work, but it does not provide a robust range of altitudes the marker can be detected from. A huge aruco that is visible from 20 yards in the air will not be able to be tracked from 3 feet. Conversely, a small marker that is great for tracking at 3 feet will not be easily found from 20 yards.
Aruco arrays combine the best features from large and small arucos, without any of the cons. Simply use a larger marker to unlock higher altitudes of detection, and a smaller marker for tracking once the drone gets closer to the ground.

I made one of these for my senior design project. We used nested QR codes instead, but otherwise it's very similar to this project in terms of the software and hardware stack. Looks nice!
