Thanks, Marina for this terrific blog session. I'm still working on Moonlight Sonata (just starting tutorial #4) but I look forward to digging into Piano Man soon. Your teaching style and methods always motivate me to want to learn and improve. I'm grateful for all I've learned from you.
So just as I was going to join this our internet, wifi etc. went out. I had to watch it on my little phone so I didn’t have chat on because I wanted to see it full screen, lol. Anyway it was great Marina and I’m going to watch it all over again and, now that my wifi is back up, sit at my piano and try to follow along. Thank you so much!
I wasn´t able to paticipate live this time. So I have watched it afterwards. Of course this is not a play-along-in-one-go-tutorial. But the I certianly recognised praticing strategies you demonstrated. And the second part took me (mentally) to the “October fest” in Tirol 😂😂 Good job 👍
Hey Marina!! So true so true. Haven’t replied a comment lately cause i have been super busy on the keys myself. Hahahaha. I wanted to ask you. Have you ever named your piano? The other thing is as a pianist myself i get asked some questions all the time alsmot daily from people that are fassenated. So one is do you sing? I answer of course. I think that a pianist should bee able to sing. Not all of them do as you and I know but their are some in the family who do. Also the other question i get asked for some reason from people is which piano do you like playing better. Digital or acoustic. I always say. I am one of those that can play both and no they don’t feel the same at all. Completely different play on both. But it really depends on what I am doing. If I am at work performing I don’t want to look cool. I want to bee formal and classy and elegant. Conducting my work. Playing the acoustic is so much to tell about the work that i do. Well, it says it all. When i am performing I love playing on grands of course. Well now if i am creating or just working on pieces I love playing digital. They can open doors to everything. And yes. I do love digital pianos cause I have one hahahahahaha. But it all depends on what I am doing personally as a pianist. Some people hate digital pianos I have talked with some pianists that hate digital pianos hahahaha they say they would never ever touch one. For me, it is all about the piano. When i started of course back when I was 2 I for sure did not start on a digital hahahaha back then anyways they were crap. They didn’t sound like today’s digital. And actually during that time digital pianos were really not their and it was not a market like it is today of many digital comming out. They were really just being talked about. But yes. Starting to drive the car before flying the plane musicially hahahahaha. When I got piano skills under my belt and mastered that, then is when I went to digital. I always tell people it is best if you can,,,, to start on an acoustic cause you are going to bee playing that especially in a recydle hall. You are not really going to find a digital piano in a concert hall. That is the thing about acoustic pianos. They are always on stage. Now if their are exhibits that show digital pianos like in years past then yes. But for residles you will bee playing more than likely on a acoustic piano. But for me I get asked that all the time. Which is your favorite to play. And I tell them well,,,, depends on what i am doing. I use both pianos to their full potential. If I am on a digital you know it cause I play it loud. When I am on an acoustic I play it differently cause I am performing. At the time I am at work I am not working on anything. I am well, I take that back hahahaha I am working on my performance and how to direct it hahahaha but as far as just playing to play or create music the digital takes the spotlight. It’s kind of cool I have to say to bee able to go from an acoustic to a digital and do things though that I was not able to do at work. Something so foreign to the acoustic piano. The things that a digital piano does is so foreign to the acoustic. When i am at the acoustic piano I have that performing attitude and working attitude like i am at work. When I am playing the digital though I have a I can do everything kind of attitude and I don’t need anyone to play along side me. Hahahaha. But yea. I don’t know if you get those questions asked but people ask me those types of questions all the time. Even some of the bus drivers who I ride on their buses to work and back. I have actually asked some bus drivers though. “What do you like driving more. The bus or your car.” And they tell me.
