    Love first take, but NBA and WNBA treatment in regard to accommodations in the bubble should NOT be treated equally, because the NBA is an enterprise, and the NBA makes considerably more money and revenue than the WNBA. Accommodations should be proportionate to revenue generated. It's not sexist at all. It's smart business.

  • @activelivingchallenger4298
    @activelivingchallenger4298 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I support the NBA on this one and disagree with SAS and Scott. Allowing the players to put whatever they want could lead to problems. Like we had a nfl player post anti Semitic stuff in an attempt to defend black people the other day, he didn’t mean what he said but that was the way it came across. Even if the nba vets every message something may get through to become some other issue. There is a reason why whatever is put on a nba jersey is highly scrutinized and goes through a series of checks before being approved. It is not as easy as you think. Ironically it would have been better if the nba didn’t even let them have any msgs on their jerseys. It goes to show that trying to please everyone can often lead to disaster.

    Stephen A’s take it’s hypocritical. His point previously was that by playing, it would amplify the players voice, but now he doesn’t care as much as actions that could/should be taken off the court. I’m not with him on this one.

    • @ihrv23
      @ihrv23 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the end isn’t it still better that it’s amplifying their voices? Sure it’s a closed list, but they were carefully chosen words that will echo through people’s brains over and over while watching the game. Isn’t this what we want....

    • @Sincere1017
      @Sincere1017 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ihrv23 I agree if the list was chosen by the players. If the league chose the message(s) then they’re still diminishing the players voices. “Of course you can speak out. But only in the way we think is appropriate”. That’s not really “giving” the players a voice or allowing them to express themselves.

    I Know NBA brings more income than WNBA but come on at the end of the day those are women. Give them proper care. But as for this jersey plan it's nonsense if they control what the play wants to say.... They might as well do it

      More income? The WNBA has not has 1 single profitable year since it began in the 90s.
      They are a leach to the NBA and a money pit for owners

    With WNBA differences with the mens league treatment, let's dont forget what has more pull than anything and that's money made . So , people can complain, but the truth is the WNBA doesn't draw nothing compared the NBA . Dont make it an equality thing , because anybody with understanding of how all pro sports work . Sorry ladies you dont make as much $ as the men that's nothing new in sports . Has nothing to do with quality of basketball on the court or mistreatment of women. Those platforms are B.S. dont forget the most important factor again with all pro sports. It's all about making money. In fact , that's pretty much the whole way of everything you see on your phone, tv , computer and all forms of media. Let's dont lie to ourselves, I'm not complaining about, I don't have a problemwith, Not saying that's right , just a fact we all live in.
