Just got this board, and it's great! The concave is great. They don't mention the W-concave in the middle enough. When going in for slides, your heel and ball of your front foot get locked between the W and edge of the cereal bowl, and your back foot will be secure at the start of the tail. I use 78A wheels that are not meant to slide at all, and I pulled of the easiest slides I've ever done. Great job Original, love your team and your boards! Keep it up!
Hey うどん, Stoked you are into the board but I am not sure where you are at on that W ; ) Sometimes when you have super deep / steep concave a 0 degree flat section in the center can feel like a slight W which I think may be what you are feeling, that said as the guy who layed out the mold, there isn't a raise other than that transition : ) Solid feedback and I think you are right on with the ease of slide initiation, I have taught two riders on the KT and both got the right idea, and quick.
This video is so perfect. Things like the sunlight shining through the bolt holes in sync with the music just makes it even better..... Even though that was probably put in in post.... This video is soooooooo beautiful
Just got the board too. The wheel wells are really great and so are the wheel base options. The kick tail is very comfortable while riding down hills. Fantastic board
Hey Original, just wanted to say that I ordered the 36 KT, and damn, I've never ridden a more comfortable board in my life. I love it and I have the best time riding it. My first board was the old Malakai, a fun board to learn on. But this thing blows it out of the park. Well done. I love it!
The kicktail is a major difference but the concave on the Arbiter KT has also been updated around the nose. Its deeper and happens much sooner, gives extra clearance for large wheels, adds some fine tuned feel for freestyle and definitely is an advantage as far as control in a tuck.
Kenneth Oyler it's feedback like this that makes me believe we are on the right track. Awesome to see a deck built for speed (along with pretty much anything else) received so well. Thanks for the support KO!
Original, I have a question! Was the graphic for this board inspired by Lava goat from your Hawaii trip a couple of years ago? Just wondering. I thought that would make an interesting backstory for you guys.
Thanks Devon! A lot of work went into the KT to be sure. Always fun to see things move forward and I can't think of a more clear instance of forward progress (as far as our boards are concerned) than the comparison you just brought up right there. Stoked you are into it and thanks for the support. Any time we can take someone from learning to getting on a serious performance board they love, we can go home happy. _Scott
Hey Yan, We have some updates coming to the molds / shapes of the Freerides and have those aimed at testing over the winter with a goal of release in the spring. We are excited to have the Arbiter KT out there and def excited get into next years stuff. Stoked you like that freeride deck!
It takes practice and is certainly harder when you are a lighter rider. Just remember, its possible on any wheels and the primary thing you need to get around is your ride mechanics and body posture / control. I like what Volante has been doing lately, maybe check out the checkers? The new otang stuff in the softer duros is super loveable imo as well.
That's if we make it there! Ha! You would really enjoy the Arbiter KT then. There's many different wheel base options and I love using the tail on mine for carving. -Lindsay
Sounds like the boards a good fit for a little bit of everything with a downhill focus on the top end, I am 175lbs at 6'0, I actually have my KT setup with 44 Calibers and Volante Checkers but my lady friend has one with 50s and some super soft protos thats really a lot of fun for slower stuff. She rides it with the wheelbase super tight and the thing carves / turns like crazy but is still a lot of fun sliding up through 35mph (at least for me). Mine is a little more speed focused for sure.
Loose trucks will help you learn to slide. Just make sure you are on a hill where you can control your speed (so that you dont get going too fast), the downside to loose trucks is stability until you improve your balance to the point where it's not a problem.... and that takes a while : )
dude that dude with the blue colla shirt made the sweet sound of birds humming in the trees above making the riders kick abnormally awesome buttockses! Thanks Original, been a loving soulful rider because of yall, mahaloz
Hey Lanre, Depends what you want to do (both when you start, and down the road). There are a lot of different sides of longboarding, in general as a bigger guy you could take a look at the Pintail 46 as a cruiser, or even the Drop Freeride 44 if you want easy slide initiation (which is the key issue a lot of people have when learning to slide). Actually the Arbiter KT would be a pretty solid board to learn on too though not the biggest deck, I like to teach beginners on the shorter wheelbase
Yeah man, I have Volante Checkers on my deck (which are actually the wheels you see in a lot of this video). I like them a lot. I dont know that they are going to have the grip if you wanted to do super high speed stuff but for just messing around having fun and getting sideways I think they are great. As strange as it sounds I can't remember what duro they are, I'm thinking they are 82a but my boards in my trunk and its cold outside haha
Not totally sure about that phock, We have a ton of stuff in the que right now but we want to cut an edit for sure. Trying to get some of these other vids done and then get onto the Halloween Jam since it was so damn awesome.
Yeah we do. World wide via UPS. We charge a $60.00USD flatrate, although this does not include any import duties / taxes that your government may charge.
Definitely getting this board I don't think it can be shipped from original to the uk so I'm gonna have to buy the deck from a UK store and set it up myself can I ask where are the trucks like in which wheel base front and back
We can totally ship to the UK. Actually its discounted right now at $25USD. Should take 3-4 days to arrive just remember you have to pay another 21% in VAT tax to the UK when it arrives. I like the inner most wheelbase for everything except pure downhill!
Hey man. I'm from the UK too, you can buy one from Newton's Shred. If you need any more help with this board or any gear things, hit me up! I'll send you a message so you can add me on Facebook etc. Whereabouts are you from?
why don't the make them anymore 😢 I was a still in school when I wanted this but couldn't afford it. now that I'm older, there's none left. am forever heartbroken. 💔
olivier toorn Ah man, stoked to hear it OT. One of my favorites as well. I actually have two, one set for just whipping around the city and the other for more serious stuff when I can get out to the big hills. Anything you would like to see us develop for the next version?
Hi Original ! I've a Freeride 38 RC and i really like my board, but it begins old and demaged now... Will you update the Freeride range soon ? It could be awesome ! If you do, i think i'll buy it immediatly ! :p
Hey there. What kind of riding are you into? What's your weight/height? The one thing I will say (keep in mind we may be a little bias, haha), is that the KT has more setup options, so you have more versatility in your deck. You can basically go for a short wheelbase for fast freeride, but widen that wheelbase if you're wanting more stability/larger wheelbase for downhill. You just have a lot more options for ride style. Which of the decks are you leaning more towards?
Well I am 16 years old, a girl, 5'2 and around 130 lbs. I want to get into longboarding like sliding and I want maybe some little flex but a stiff deck. I want a deck where I can do slides, free ride and some tricks. I am not too sure what deck I want because I first saw the Rayne Otherside but it was just a little too long, and then I saw the Darkside which is a little shorter so I was going to go for that, but then I found this board and I really like both. I just want some opinions and preferences set for me.
This reason this video was re-uploaded is because it was not viewable in all countries. Taken from the OS Facebook page: "After some technical difficulties (not all riders could watch) our Arbiter 36 KT longboard video "The People Have Spoken" is live and better than ever:"
Haisam Rihawi Hey Haisam, what's your weight/height? We have a lot of bigger riders (as well as smaller riders) rocking the KT with the 36 in" platform.
We can ship it down for you for $60.00USD though that doesnt include VAT or whatever taxes / duties your government may charge you. I am not sure of the charges to Peru but I know we ship boards to South America all the time : )
Hey Pete. You can for sure use a surf skate setup on the KT. If you wanted a lot of board lean, you could also opt for a different board (Pintail or even Apex) set with S8 trucks. Have you checked those out?
How much would you recommend to spend on a downhill long board for a beginner - intermediate. I was looking at arbiter 36 kt. But it is a little expensive, well i think it is anyway. ???
The Arbiter Kt is the best you could get, maybe for a beginner you could go for one of the Apex boards. But I honestly think the arbiter's price is the best deal ever for waht you get.
I don't see that as a huge problem. Those two boards are VERY different in terms of the ride KT has a MUCH shorter wheelbase... and... well... a kick. It also has a more advanced / steeper concave in the nose where as the OG Arbiter has a consistent concave front to back. I use my OG Arbiter when I think I will be at the top end of my speed comfort zone (extra wb helps stability) where as I spend way more time overall on my Arbiter KT since my local hills are on the smallerside, and it ollies
Hey guys, I wanted to know if it is normal for the board to crack after doing ollies on flat ground. I'm not stomping it, yet it developed cracks through the plies 8 out of 9 to be exact.
Kenneth - not totally sure what your board looks like -- shoot us an email customersupport@originalskateboards.com so we can see what kind of cracking you have going on and help you fix up your board if need be. Make sure to include your customer/order number when you email as well as photos of the deck. Thanks!
I atually ride mine as short as it will go almost all the time just for the slide initiation / control during the slide. Shorter WBs, and standing over your trucks, make it easier to correct direction during the slide and make it easier to force a slide around or initiate if you are off balance a little. You sacrifice some stability but the reality is that stability comes from strengthening your legs and improving your board awareness, tons of the guys you see up high in the 40s 50s ride short
this has to be one of the greatest videos ive seen in a while! i absolutely love how you got random people to say stuff about it! thumbs uppp!
Just got this board, and it's great! The concave is great. They don't mention the W-concave in the middle enough. I LOVE this board. It rides exactly how I want it to, and surprisingly easy to kickflip on. Wonderful ride all around
Kenneth Oyler it's feedback like this that makes me believe we are on the right track.
Awesome to see a deck built for speed (along with pretty much anything else) received so well.

Sweeeet, yeh definately looking for something to muck around the streets on. Thanks heaps man!
Love their people have spoken vids
this is probably the best promotional video ever

This is why Original is awesome keeping it real have some fun with the city folks and busting out amazing boards you go guys
Great commercial. Definitely stoked on the direction that original is heading
That board looks like so much fun!!
That's if we make it there! Ha! You would really enjoy the Arbiter KT then. There's many different wheel base options and I love using the tail on mine for carving. -Lindsay

this video makes me happy :)
FINALLY I LIVE IN GERMANY AND I CAN ACTUALLY WATCH VIDEOS FROM ORIGINAL NOW. i'm done screaming.
Definitely you should get some 77a centrax! They are so rad Thomas
dude that dude with the blue colla shirt made the sweet sound of birds humming in the trees above making the riders kick abnormally awesome buttockses! Thanks Original, been a loving soulful rider because of yall, mahaloz
awesome
This board look pretty sick !!
That cute girl killed it with the Gatsby voice! "can I use my Gatsby voice? I have a Gatsby voice." Nailed it!
Hey Lanre,

Hi Original !
I've a Freeride 38 RC and i really like my board, but it begins old and demaged now...
Will you update the Freeride range soon ? It could be awesome ! If you do, i think i'll buy it immediatly ! :p
the old mans the best
Well, I know what I want for christmas now, will there be any sale by then?
Original ALWAYS makes best videos.
Would you say this board, the Arbiter 36 KT deck is better than the Rayne Darkside deck? I am thinking about getting one of the two. Anyone? Opinions?

WHHHHHHYYYYYY you change the music !!!! the first one fit the video perfect :(
Love the board but you guys should try making one thats maybe 38 inches for larger riders. That would be dope
Haisam Rihawi Hey Haisam, what's your weight/height? We have a lot of bigger riders (as well as smaller riders) rocking the KT with the 36 in" platform.
i just can't stop noticing that there is a spot on the lens in some of the shots
Axel shreds so hard!!!
2nd post of video?!.
Hey Original, where can I get this board / deck??
Ich find es super. Ich möchte es kaufen.
do another video on the baffle :)
We can ship it down for you for $60.00USD though that doesnt include VAT or whatever taxes / duties your government may charge you. I am not sure of the charges to Peru but I know we ship boards to South America all the time : )
do you guys do shipment to asia? hmmm..singapore?
what wheels were used for that 720?
love it haha
hey original what was the song on the other version of this video before it was deleted
hey, do you think it could also work with a surfskate front?
Hey Pete. You can for sure use a surf skate setup on the KT. If you wanted a lot of board lean, you could also opt for a different board (Pintail or even Apex) set with S8 trucks. Have you checked those out?
Old man: Are you from California?
Girl: No, i'm from New Jersey.
Old man: That's even worse.
That is perfect
right!? Spoken like a true New Yorker.
Is this board good for shu-vits ?:)
why was this taken down the first time?
What is the name on the guy with the rasta hair? He's sick !!!
Hey original,
Do u have tto have your trucks really loose
How much would you recommend to spend on a downhill long board for a beginner - intermediate. I was looking at arbiter 36 kt. But it is a little expensive, well i think it is anyway. ???
The Arbiter Kt is the best you could get, maybe for a beginner you could go for one of the Apex boards. But I honestly think the arbiter's price is the best deal ever for waht you get.
cute video guys!
Harder wheels are easier to slide, so anything 80a and above is what I prefer, I ride 85a, very slidy, but still gives good grip.
damn. i really want an arbiter kt :( but i already had the standard one :(
I don't see that as a huge problem.
Those two boards are VERY different in terms of the ride KT has a MUCH shorter wheelbase... and... well... a kick. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccckkkkkkk
This video cracks me up in a way you wouldn't believe! Lmfao! "This kick tail is steezy motherfucking ma-gee!"
Hey guys, I wanted to know if it is normal for the board to crack after doing ollies on flat ground. I'm not stomping it, yet it developed cracks through the plies 8 out of 9 to be exact.

What wheelbase option do you recommend for mid-speed free ride
I atually ride mine as short as it will go almost all the time just for the slide initiation / control during the slide.
Shorter WBs, and standing over your trucks, make it easier to correct direction during the slide and make it easier to force a slide around or initiate if you are off balance a little. I would love to get one! Too bad its 40 degrees outside...lol
What are the blue wheels with the pink cores
