I was not interested in this movie when they were playing advertisements for it because the marketing was so poor imo, but I'm SO GLAD I went to see it in theaters!! Great movie!!!
I didn't know people HATE on this movie?!?! I saw it a week ago and i loved it, and it's one of my favourites now. I cried 2-3 times while i watched it. This movie is so real... I don't understand people sometimes. I really loved Nick's reaction and i also agree with him! The idea of the movie was AWSOME!!!!
most people Ive seen didnt like it bc it was about love.... "oh it was too lovey dovey" I love pixar movies that make me depressed but dang movies about love are cool too, as long as theyre done well!
1. So from what ive heard Elemental was released along with some other movies that already had established fanbases. I think I heard a marvel movie was one of the movies Elemental was up against in the box office. Everyone thought it wasnt good because it did so poorly in the box office but then people slowly started to realize that it was actually really good and made a huge comeback. 2. I think both the dad (Bernie) and Ember were at fault. I think once Ember was old enough to understand what it meant the dad should have told that she doesn't have to follow in his steps and take over the shop. That he will be just as proud of her if she makes her own path in life as he did. Ember should have told her dad the second she had doubts but then again she didn't ever realize it until Wade came along and helped her work through her emotions. Its also understandable that both the dad and Ember assumed each other wanted to run the shop because its all both Ember and her dad talked about. They were both clearly happy to look forward to it so its understandable how the dad assumed she still wanted to take over the shop because there wasnt anything shown otherwise. Nobody was able to put together embers anger issues as her subconscious telling her she doesnt want to run the shop. 3. This one is just for my curiosity. I wonder if all water people cry a lot or if thats something that runs in Wades family? All the water people we really knew and saw cry was Wades family.
The reason it wasn't too liked and watched is because it seemed very cookie cutter, the marketing left a *lot* to he desired, and the metaphors came off across too on the nose or nonsensical at times. It's still a very cute movie and a lot of people resonated with it.
Yeah, I honestly enjoy it but it’s a bit too on the nose for sure. Plus they did the same thing in Zootopia (as in a very on the nose metaphor for racism) and a lot of people called them out for it, so it’s like come on, you have to be a bit more creative next time.
the part where he evaporates made me cry but the thing is we were in the movie theater in North Carolina visiting my older bro in the military and I swiped at a tear and my baby sis looked at me and I am like just watch the movie like I didn't want anyone knowing that I cried
Nick's parents are immigrants. But he was raised in the USA. Ember was born and raised in the city they live in. The difference is that embers family is Asian coded. But nicks family is like Ember's.
The dad said she was the dream cause ember wanted the shop cause she thought her dad wanted her to have it but the dad only wanted her to have it mostly cause since she was little she said she was gonna be like him when older and run it so it was miss communication I feel like if she would have been honest from the beginning with the pipes and how she doesn’t want the shop etc the dad would have been perfectly fine with it and like at the end just gave it to someone else like close friends or something this whole movie time and time again ember was low key just always getting in her own way and could have been solved if she just communicated more but I still love this movie
The only thing I'd actually change about this movie is to make it more grounded instead of having a whole action finale. Just focus on the relationships and dynamics, the "action" _kinda_ brings it down _just_ abit for me, because realistic why would they not still reinforce the wall? Also, the construction crew _ignores_ a damaged part of the city just because they don't like the guy that told them? Come on...
Why are y'all talking so much instead of Akshay watching the movie if you really would stop talking and listen to the movie you would not have to ask about the movie
