The guy is absolutely the best actor out of young actors on the show. He plays Halstead so naturally that the viewer feels like Jay is a real person, not a fictional character. Agree with the comment below, that Halstead always gets the hardest, dark cases. But this is why I love Dick Wolf, he doesn't run away from our grim and complicated reality, also complex reality in our police, Wolf shows all sides of reality, not just black and white. This is why this show is waaaay better procedural drama than all boring types of NCIS. On NCIS, no matter the case, the main team always remains the ''good guys '', while PD shows the characters as humans, who always, also make mistakes.

That’s my fav thing about Chicago med fire and Pd is the fact that they start filming the show like 2-3 weeks before the first episode is due to be released and then they don’t seen the final product of the episode until it comes out on nbc so they don’t know what senses stay in or get cut so it’s doesn’t get spoiled on fans by the cast accidentally spoiling it cause they don’t know what’s gonna happen
