If you are on the market to get a delay and reverb for your guitar, you might be asking yourself:
Should a get a Dual Delay/Reverb combo pedal, or should I buy 2 separate pedals. What's the best option?
In this video, I will make sound comparisons between dual and individual pedals and will then explore pros and cons of having a dual delay & reverb pedal.
Hopefully, you'll get a better idea of what you need at the end of this video.

I have a Rêver and a Cirrus both of which are double pedals I use a lot and enjoy. But I've moved back to separate pedals because I got a Neunaber immerse. And it's just that good...

I've had the Specular Tempus, and it sounded incredible. Sold it due to financial issues, but also because Line 6 keep updating their HX software to the point where the reverbs and delays are at a really, really high level. Right now I feel that the main reason to have a separate delay or reverb is to free up DSP, especially if you have a Stomp (which I do).

Love my Collider, though I still run a Carbon Copy prior as a wash and mow am auditioning a Tremo-Verb as well.

The EQD avalanche run is the best pedal I have ever had. Especially if you like messing around with controls

Flamma Ekoverb is a combo and can be bought new for about $100. It has less options than some of these pedals, but it’s an excellent pedal.

I have an EHX Canyon and it's really good for what it is. One of these days I'll buy a more sophisticated Reverb/delay pedal or combo but not right now.

Yes it has 2 reverbs. The shimmer on it is awesome. The other is called verb and is a combo Reverb and delay. The pedal is extremely quiet too and the effects are like pro quality.

I just need 2 mix knobs. I got AR for that. Even though dispatch master was exquisite, i hated not having individual mix knobs.
I do wish it had a toggle switch though to switch reverb types

Hey Antonie would you be willing to make a video where you talk about examples of different genres of ambient music or ambient style playing?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge ant this. I got HOF & EHX Oceans, so thinking to sell both to buy RV-500.. or just use them both? So maybe will try the latter idea first.

I have the TC Alter Ego and HoF2, those are fantastic together. There are tons of great combo delay/reverb pedals now, all of which sound great. Price would actually be cheaper with separate pedals in most cases- the determining factor is if you want those "extra" features that the bigger combo pedals have.

I use the Colider and a Nux Atlantic which also is an excellent dual delay/ reverb , costs much less than the Source Audio!

i had the Ocean Machine. when using just the reverb only and running a ping pong delay into it from another delay pedal, the ping pong was lost coming out of it.. so while it is true stereo out and has its own ping pong, it is not true stereo in and out. i looked into it and i am not the only person run into this issue. loved it, but it did not play well with others, so i sold it.

There are different tiers of pedals. Best duel Reverb/Delay option is still SA Collider. You can change the order of the effects or run in parallel, use 2 delays or 2 reverbs together, 5 delays and 7 reverbs to choose from, tap tempo, save presets, etc.

Only thing I don't like about it is that it's made in China and I hear complaints that sometimes it craps out.

    • @bluepedalsrock9271
      @bluepedalsrock9271 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I second the Source Audio Collider as a reverb+delay recommendation. You can easily save gorgeous user-made presets to it or deep dive and make your own sound.
A volume pedal -> Collider -> looper and you have yourself a powerful (yet small) ambient pedalboard. Just make sure the looper at the end allows for stereo in and outputs.

@@mr.d.572 That’s a valid concern. I might have just gotten lucky with mine, but it seems well built. I read 99% of electronic materials come from China in one form or fashion even if they are “designed” or “assembled in the states.

Agreed, it’s a fantastic pedal, anyone who is on the fence should check out Ponderer Sounds TH-cam video. Source Audio are also great to deal with in my experience.
